Coronavirus cases in India continue to witness a surge from across the country. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare data has put the total number of COVID-19 cases in India at 366,946 and 12,237 deaths. The total number of active cases in the country now stands 160,384 with 194,324 cured/discharged/migrated and over 12,000 deaths, according to the latest data by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi completed tow two rounds of video meeting with Chief Ministers of all states and UTs and discussed the situation of COVID19 pandemic.

Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Gujarat have the highest number of cases in the country. In Delhi, Health Minister and an AAP MLA have tested positive for Coronavirus. After researchers in England announced benefits of Dexamethasone steroid in COVID19 treatment, the demand for the drug has seen a surge.

Even though medical experts are still studying the findings and are understanding the benefits, industry executives are expecting global demand for Dexamethasone to go up like in the case of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) earlier.
