Bihar: Nine convicts hanged in poisonous liquor scandal, four women imprisoned for life

In the poisonous liquor scandal in Gopalganj, Bihar, the court of ADJ-2 Lavkush Kumar sentenced nine convicts to death and four women to life imprisonment. According to the information, 19 people died in this incident in Khajurbani of Gopalganj Nagar police station area on August 2016, while six people lost their eyesight. After this incident, on 16 and 17 August 2016, police recovered huge quantities of poisonous liquor in ward number 25 Khajurbani of Gopalganj Nagar police station. In which 14 people were named as accused. According to the information received, after drinking poisonous liquor on the night of August 15, suddenly the health of the people started deteriorating. By the morning of 16 August, many people died. There were a total of 19 deaths by the evening. After raiding the poisonous liquor scandal, the police raided on 16 and 17 August 2016 and recovered a large amount of liquor. The police action confirmed that people died due to drinking in the same locality. On this, the police registered an FIR against 14 people in the city police station.
