IIT Roorkee becomes new hotspot,5hostel sealed

Corona virus infection is increasing rapidly in the country.  80 students of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee in Uttarakhand have been hit by Corona, after which five hostels have been sealed and declared as containment zones.
 IIT Roorkee’s media cell in-charge Sonika Srivastava said that a hostel has been converted into a Kovid Care Center.  At the same time, the IIT Roorkee administration has instructed the students to isolate themselves in their rooms.  Let me tell you that till Tuesday the corona report of 60 students came positive.  Then on Wednesday, 20 more students were found to be corona positive in the RT-PCR test conducted by the Haridwar District Health Department at the institute.
 Sonika Srivastava said that after 80 Corona positive students were found in the institute, Haridwar District Health Department has sealed five hostels named Kottle, Kasturba, Sarojini, Govind Bhavan and Vigyan Kunj and declared them as Containment Zone.  She said that the institute has 3000 students, out of which around 1200 students live in these 5 hostels.
 Sonika further said that under the supervision of the District Health Department, the Ganga Bhawan Hostel has been converted into a Covid Care Center where the infected students are being treated.  In addition, a guest house and another establishment have been made a quarantine center.
 At the same time, Dr. SK Jha, Chief Medical Officer of Haridwar said that we had taken RT-PCR samples of about 2000 students and staff from the institute after detecting the infection.  As of Tuesday, reports of 60 students came positive and then on Wednesday, 20 more students reported corona infection.
