The freezing cold on Makar Sankranti in Delhi, mercury reaches 2 degrees

It is freezing all over North India at this time. The worst is in Jammu and Kashmir where the winter has broken the record of the past several years. In Pahalgam, the mercury dropped to 12 degrees.
The cold in Delhi is cold and the entire North India is chilly due to cold wave. The fog in Delhi has once again added to the problems of the people. Passengers have slowed down due to reduced visibility. In the morning, a significant drop in temperature was recorded in different areas of Delhi.

Palam area recorded 6.2 degrees in the morning, while the same in Safdarjung was 2 degrees. This is the first time since January 1 when the temperature in Delhi has gone down so much. On January 1, 2021, the minimum temperature in Delhi was 1.1 degrees Celsius. The weather department believes that similar weather will remain for the next two to three days. At the same time, the temperature can also fall.

Gulmarg also recorded a temperature of minus 10 degrees. Srinagar also recorded a new minimum of minus 7.8 degrees on Wednesday, which is the lowest in the last 9 years.

In Srinagar, Dal Lake has also completely frozen due to cold. A flight of IndiGo at Srinagar Airport reached extremely close to several feet high snow mound accumulated before take off yesterday. The engine of the aircraft was going through a pile of snow. However, there was no damage to the aircraft and passengers.
Due to snowfall in the mountains, there has been a sharp drop in the temperature in the northern plains states. Yesterday at Palam in Delhi, the maximum temperature was recorded at just 15.2 degrees, with the minimum temperature being 3.2 degrees Celsius. In Chandigarh too, the mercury could not go above 12.2 degrees.
