Ashok’s Family Devastated by Sudden Loss
Ashok’s family received his mortal remains at their village in Amroha. The atmosphere was filled with grief as elders and children wept inconsolably. His sister-in-law Sumati shared that Ashok is survived by his wife, two daughters aged seven and nine, and a six-year-old son. She urged the government to extend financial help to the bereaved family.
Ashok’s sister Bhuri, overwhelmed with emotion, appealed for assistance, expressing concern about how Ashok’s widow would raise the children alone.
Second Victim from Amroha Identified as Lokesh Agarwal
Officials confirmed that two residents from Amroha lost their lives in the explosion. The second victim, Lokesh Agarwal, was a fertiliser trader from Hasanpur in Amroha. He had travelled to Delhi to visit a relative admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and later met his friend Ashok near Red Fort Metro Station, where the tragic incident occurred.
Family members said they learned about Lokesh’s death after police traced a call made from his mobile phone. The blast was so intense that both men died instantly. Local MLA Mahendra Singh Khadakvanshi expressed deep sorrow, calling it an irreparable loss for the families and urging authorities to provide necessary support.
Delhi Police Investigate Possible Fidayeen Link
According to Delhi Police, preliminary findings suggest that the explosion might have been a fidayeen-style or suicide attack. Investigators believe the suspect initially planned a different type of blast but switched strategies after a terror module in Faridabad was busted. The change in plan appeared aimed at inflicting maximum casualties and avoiding arrest.
Security Tightened and Probe Intensified
The blast near the Red Fort led to panic across the area and prompted a swift and large-scale security response. Teams from the Special Cell, Crime Branch, and Forensic Science Laboratory were deployed to the site. The area was sealed, and visitors were evacuated as forensic teams examined the scene.
Investigation agencies are also monitoring social media and analysing digital communication data to trace connections and identify those involved in the attack.
