New Delhi | A massive explosion occurred near Gate Number 1 of Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi, on Monday evening engulfing three to four nearby vehicles in flames. The blast shook the surrounding area causing panic among residents and prompting seven fire tenders to rush to the scene to control the fire.

Eyewitnesses described the blast as deafening and said it rattled windows and spread fear throughout the locality Rajdhar Pandey, a local resident, said he saw flames from his house and rushed outside. The explosion was so loud that it shook his windows and left him shocked.
Other locals reported seeing casualties and damaged vehicles.
A resident said body parts were scattered on the road and that no one could immediately understand what had happened.
Several cars were severely damaged, a shopkeeper added that the blast was unlike anything he had ever experienced and caused him to fall multiple times.
The Delhi Police Special Cell has arrived at the site to investigate authorities, are working to determine the cause of the explosion while ensuring public safety in the area.
