Ex Niti Aayog vice-chairman Arvind Panagariya stated on Sunday that India’s present immunisation rate is just inadequate. He stated that the government must reach a daily pace of at least 5 to 6 million vaccinations. According to the Union Health Ministry, upwards of 38.60 crore vaccine doses have been distributed to states and union territories through various channels. Another 11,25,140 doses are in the works, according to the company.
According to statistics available at 8 a.m. on Sunday, more than 37.16 crore doses, comprising wastages, had been taken of the over 38.60 crore doses. And over 1.44 crore unutilized Covid-19 vaccine doses are still accessible for vaccination through state and union territory administrations as well as private institutions, according to the report.
