The Central Government expanded the period of time before 30 September 2021, according to MoS Finance Anurag Thakur, to include the Permanent Account Number (PAN) with the Aadhaar card. From 30 March to 30 June 2021, the time limit was extended before.
The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) stated, as per the official announcement, that if the PAN card was not connected to an Adhaar card at the period specified it will become unserviceable. If someone is not connected by September 30 to Aadhaar by their PAN card, they will incur a fine of Rs1,000 in the income imposed by the income tax department.
