Veteran Cinematographer Sivan Succumbs To Cardiac Arrest

On Thursday, veteran cinematographer Sivan died of a heart attack at his home. Sivan was 89 years old and had won three National Awards. Sangeeth Sivan, Sivan’s son, has publicly verified the news on Facebook. Sivan made his Malayalam film debut as the still photographer for the timeless masterpiece Chemmeen. In 1959, he established the Sivan studios at Statue Junction. Sivan’s eldest son is famous cinematographer Santosh Sivan.

His most renowned works are Yagam, Kilivathil, Keshu, Oru yathra, and a few more. He directed the children’s film Abhayam. The South Cinema community is extremely grieved by Sivan’s death, and many personalities are grieving his passing.
