In response to the first outlook of the current G7 meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed India’s commitment to a “collective” resolution to the global health concerns on Saturday.
Prime Minister Modi called for a ‘one earth, one health’ approach to cooperation among the countries of the globe in addressing the epidemic. He also stressed the necessity for easy availability of raw materials for vaccinations.
Mr. Modi “wanted G7’s backing for the TRIPS waiver request put up by India and South Africa at the World Trade Organization (WTO).
This exemption will enable India increase anti-COVID-19 manufacturing. Australia and other countries strongly supported the argument. French President Emmanuel Macron also defended the capacity of nations like India which can play a key role in controlling the epidemic.
