The Vice Chancellor of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Raj Bahadur said that the majority of ventilators that were received under the PM cares fund were not in a working condition. He mentioned that 82 ventilators were sent to the hospital out of which 62 were faulty and not working. He further informed that there are only 42 ventilators at present in the hospital.
The nation has faced a major shortage of ventilators and oxygen cylinders since the pandemic hit the country. The no. of Covid patients are increasing everyday and hence a large amount of ventilators and cylinders are needed. The Central as well as the State governments have been working continuously to come up to the needs of the patients. At this crucial time, such major mistake can cause a huge loss as anticipated.
