A three-storey building has collapsed in Gurgaon’s Khawaspur village at 7 pm yesterday. The police report said that four to five people are believed to be buried under the rubble.
The official report stated that the structure was located on the ‘Cargo Deluxe Company’ premises and served as a residence for the employees. DCP Rajiv said, “Eyewitnesses have told us that a pillar fell first, and then the entire structure came down. We have rescued one person, but we don’t know how many were inside,” He added, “The guard told us that four to five people were there, but we will be able to confirm only once the operation is complete,”
Sources informed that “local and district administration teams” reached the scene, including Pataudi MLA Satya Prakash Jarawata, SDM Pradeep Kumar, fire brigade, ambulances, and senior administration officials. They also informed that the rescue work was being done on “war footing”. An NDRF team is also at the spot.
Deputy Commissioner Yash Garg said, “Teams were immediately dispatched to the spot for relief and rescue work as soon as we were alerted to the incident. Ambulance and doctors are on the spot. Relief and rescue operations are being carried out,” Additional Divisional Fire Officer Gulshan Kalra said, “This was a residential building. One person has been rescued and sent to the hospital. We don’t have a confirmation on how many people are trapped inside at the moment.”
