India has the largest vaccination campaign in the world, which has now been opened to the general public as well. On Tuesday, a 103-year-old woman took the first dose of the Corona vaccine in Bengaluru on Tuesday, making Jay Kameshwari the oldest woman in India to have taken the vaccine.
The central government is emphasizing on intensifying the corona vaccination campaign in the states as the government started the second phase of vaccination from 1 March. In this phase, people over 60 years of age and over 45 years of age with severe illnesses can get the Corona vaccine by registering for the Covid-19 vaccine.
As per the report, a total of 10,28,911 vaccine doses have been given till 7 pm Tuesday, the 53rd day of nationwide COVID-19 vaccination, of which 7,98,354 beneficiaries were vaccinated for the first dose and 2,30,557 HCW and FLW was given a second dose of vaccine according to the provisional report.
