In Telangana, the police have taken major action regarding cow slaughter. In fact, the police had received information that some cows were being killed in Siddipet district of the state. After this, the police arrested eight people in the case on Saturday.According to a police official, he was informed on Friday that 16 cows were being slaughtered on the outskirts of Siddipet. After this, a team of police reached the spot and arrested eight people.District Police Commissioner D Joel Davis said that a case has been registered in connection with the incident under related sections of Bhadanson, Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and the Prevention of Slaughter Act. Police said the arrested people used to buy old cows from farmers to sell beef and took them to a poultry shed to slaughter them. Meanwhile, members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) took out a rally on Friday and demanded the arrest of those responsible for cow slaughter. Police say that the situation in Siddipet is peaceful at the moment.
