]]> According to official sources, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has extended thanks to her Indian counterpart, Narendra Modi, for successfully removing her people from Ukraine during the Russia-Ukraine conflict. After Russia proclaimed a temporary truce from 10 a.m. on Tuesday (Moscow Time), India began rescuing its trapped people from Ukraine’s Sumy to Poltava under ‘Operation Ganga’.  The truce was implemented to build humanitarian corridors in Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Mariupol.

Nine Bangladeshis were also rescued from Ukraine as part of the mission. It also attracted students from Nepal and Tunisia.

]]> The Kremlin said on Wednesday that the United States has begun a financial war against Russia, citing a barrage of sanctions imposed in response to the country’s military invasion in Ukraine. “The US has launched economic war on Russia and is de facto conducting this war,” Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told media, as the Russian government scrambled to enact steps to mitigate the sanctions’ financial impacts.

Dmytro Kuleba, Ukraine’s foreign minister, claimed on Wednesday that Russia is “keeping 400,000 people prisoner” in Mariupol and demanded a stop to the “barbaric war on civilians and newborns.”

]]> On Wednesday, US President Joe Biden stated that his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin will never win the conflict in Ukraine. Putin may well be able to conquer a city, but he would never be capable of holding a country, according to him.

“This much is obviously clear: Ukraine will never be a win for Putin,” Biden stated in a tweet. Putin might be able to conquer a city, but he’ll never be able to maintain control of the country.”

In reaction to Moscow’s attack on Ukraine, he placed an embargo on US imports of Russian oil, gas, and electricity just hours ago. “Russian oil will no longer be taken at US ports,” he said, “and the American people will strike back hard against Putin’s military machine.”

The sides settled the case in February for an unknown fee, saving Queen Elizabeth II’s second son the public embarrassment of a lawsuit.

Judge Lewis Kaplan authorized a “stipulation of dismissal” of the lawsuit submitted by both parties in federal district court in New York on Tuesday. The parties have agreed to submit a request for discharge “upon Ms Giuffre’s receipt of the settlement,” implying that the compensation had been paid, according to the deal made last month.

]]> According to medical authorities, a suicide bomber attacked inside a Shiite Muslim mosque in Pakistan’s northern city of Peshawar while Friday prayers were going on, resulting in the deaths of 56 attendees and wounded 194 others. The incident was not initially claimed by any extremist organization. Previously,  both the Islamic State and the Pakistani Taliban — a terrorist organization distinct from the Taliban in Afghanistan – have conducted similar operations in the area, which lies close to the Afghan border.

The incident began when two armed assailants began firing on police near a mosque in Peshawar’s old city, according to Peshawar Police Chief Muhammed Ejaz Khan. During the firefight, one assailant and one police officer were shot, while another police officer was injured. The final assailant dashed into the mosque and exploded a bomb.

Russia’s blockade of major cities throughout Ukraine continued on Thursday, with Moscow claiming command of a city in southern Ukraine. Since Russian soldiers entered Ukraine a week ago, 1 million people have left over the country’s borders, according to the United Nations’ top refugee official.

The increased number of Ukrainian refugees represents slightly more than 2% of the nation’s 44 million inhabitants. As per the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), almost 50% of the refugees are in Poland, with Hungary, Moldova, and Slovakia rounding out the top five, while some have gone to other European countries.

]]> In the first six days of the conflict, about 6,000 Russians had died, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy. This comes in the wake of reports of Russian aerial forces arriving in Kharkiv, Ukraine’s 2nd largest city, and the Russian military claims to have gotten hold of Kherson, in the country’s south.

In the meantime, the administration announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi “spoke to the leading figures of Russia, Ukraine, Romania, the Slovak Republic, and Poland concerning the protection and cooperation of the rescue operation of Indians from Ukraine,” and that all steps are being taken to return 40 percent of Indians trapped in the conflicted region.

According to the authorities, 30 percent percent of its total 20,000 Indians in Ukraine already have returned to India, while another 30 percent are in nearby countries.

]]> According to India’s foreign ministry, one Indian student died in a bombing in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv, as resentment of New Delhi’s decision to evacuate academics from the violent nation grows. As the attack of the former Soviet republic enters its 6th day, Russian soldiers are shooting guns and besieging Kharkiv and other important cities, according to a Ukrainian source.

According to Indian media sources, the student, named Naveen Shekharappa, was from the Haveri region of Karnataka’s southern state and attended medical university in Ukraine.

According to his housemate, the student died while looking to find his route out of Kharkiv. “He lived close to the governor’s residence and had been waiting in line for lunch.  Suddenly, an airstrike blasted the governor’s residence, killing him,” Pooja Praharaj, a student organizer in Kharkiv said.
