										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday thanked India&#8217;s doctors for saving lakhs of lives during the Covid pandemic.</p>
<p>In his televised address on National Doctors&#8217; day, the Prime Minister said &#8220;Service rendered by doctors in last one and a half years is exemplary; I thank them on behalf of 130 crore Indians.&#8221;</p>
<p>He urged doctors to undertake research, documentation over benefits of vaccines, early diagnosis, specific treatments.</p>
<p>The Prime Minister informed that budget allocation for the health sector has been doubled to over Rs 2 lakh crore. A credit guarantee scheme of Rs 50,000 crores has been sanctioned for areas with deficient health infrastructure.</p>
<p>Modi maintained that India&#8217;s healthcare system was able to remain somewhat stable during the Covid pandemic, compared to some developed countries.</p>
<p>People from medical fraternity are now coming forward to promote yoga, the Prime Minister said. Many modern medical science institutions are conducting studies on how yoga is helping in fighting post-Covid complications, he added.</p>
