The government has ordered &#8220;all branches to lift all types of regulations imposed during the lockdown in full extent.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;The state cabinet has decided to lift the lockdown completely. The decision has been taken to lift the lockdown by examining the reports given by medical authorities that the number of corona cases, positivity percentage has decreased significantly, corona have come into full control,&#8221; the Chief Minister&#8217;s Office posted on Facebook.</p>
<p>Telangana, one of the worst-hit states in the country, on Friday reported a case positivity of just 1.14 per cent. The number of daily cases was just over 1,400 in 24 hours, whereas the number of Covid-linked deaths was 12.</p>
<p>The reversing of the more virulent Covid wave has been attributed to the strict lockdown the state government had imposed.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Earlier, the Government of Telangana had imposed a lockdown starting from 12th May to 22nd May. The Chief Minister of Telangana, K. Chandrashekhar Rao on Tuesday, 18th May decided to extend the lockdown till 30th May after a phone call with the cabinet ministers.</p>
<p>During April end and early May Telangana was under a Night Curfew. When asked about a lockdown it was told that it is unnecessary. Then within a day or two lockdown was announced. The lockdown comes in with a total relaxation for 4 hours a day from 6AM to 10AM. At those hours, every one has the permission for intra-state movement and at the remaining times a pass is required unless it is an emergency service.</p>
<p>A cabinet meeting was also scheduled for 20th May which now stands cancelled since the ministers are busy dealing the corona situation in the state.</p>
<p>The Chief Secretary has been instructed to release the G.O extending the lockdown till 30th May.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Update on the Telangana fire: Nine persons are feared trapped in the Srisailam Hydroelectric Plant located underground on the Telangana-Andhra Pradesh border after a fire broke out on Thursday night and &#8220;huge smoke&#8221; was preventing rescue personnel from entering in, officials said on Friday.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Nagarkurnool district Collector L Sharman said three fire engines were engaged in extinguishing the huge smoke emanating from the plant&#8217;s premises.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">While Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was monitoring the rescue work through his cabinet colleague, Union Minister of State for Home, Kishan Reddy, said he has asked NDRF to join the rescue efforts.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">&#8220;There is huge smoke and because of it we are not able to enter into the plant premises. By 11 am we expect to enter the plant,&#8221; Sharman told PTI, adding, nine persons including seven staff members are stuck. Those stuck include a Deputy Engineer and an Assistant Engineer.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">&#8220;Our main target is to rescue them&#8230;we are not able to contact them because they are not carrying mobile phones and there is no mobile network,&#8221; he said. Quoting preliminary information, he said a short- circuit is suspected to have caused the fire. </p>
