Tamil Nadu CM , MK Stalin cancelled class 12 board examinations and  writes to PM Modi urging him to cancel all level national level entrance examinations like NEET, due to Covid 19.

 

 

 

Mr.Stalin said “Since no announcement on NEET has been made so far , I have written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to cancel all entrance examinations for admission in higher education.”

He also highlighted that the Centre had already cancelled the CBSE examinations for 12 standard and many other states also had cancelled board examinations.

Remembering the opinions given by medical experts about the possibility of a third wave he said allowing students to write examinations would further increase the spread of infection.

]]> The Modi government is ready to negotiate with the farmers who are protesting about the agricultural law.  Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar gave information in this regard.  He said that we have discussed the problem of farmers.  There have been two conversations.  Once at the officer level and once I myself was involved in the discussion, we have invited them to discuss again on December 3 on behalf of the government.
 Agriculture Minister Tomar said, “I would like to appeal that it is winter.”  Beat time.  Leave the path of the peasant movement and discuss it.  We have invited from our side.  Farmers cannot be hurt as long as Modi ji is the Prime Minister. “With this, he said that I appeal to the farmers that the farmers’ organizations should join the discussion and solve the problem by negotiating.
 The Agriculture Minister said that on December 3, we will consider the answer that will come from the farmers union or any proposal will come for discussion.  He said that the MSP is still and will continue to be.  If the farmer wants, then he can compare what has happened to the farmers during the Congress rule and during the Modi regime.

]]> There is a threat of Cyclone Nivar in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.  A severe cyclonic storm formed in the Bay of Bengal could hit the coast between Mamallapuram and Karaikal late this evening.  According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), during this time the wind speed is expected to be 120 to 130 km per hour.  The process of rain continues in many areas of Tamil Nadu.  Also, high waves are also rising in the sea.  In the midst of the storm, many flights have been canceled, while the railways have also canceled many trains. 
The coastal areas of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry have been evacuated due to cyclonic storm prevention alerts.  Also, fishermen have been banned from going to sea shore.

]]> Indian-origin Senator and Democratic vice-presidential candidate Kamala Harris has said her mother instilled in her that the core values of America is not just to strive for success and but also to leave the country better than they found it.

And this is what she strives to be, Harris said during the launch of the Asian American and Pacific Islander for Biden, a group supporting the Democratic nominee for the November presidential election.

Harris, 55, is of both African and Indian descent, with her father being from Jamaica and mother Shyamala Gopalan from Tamil Nadu. In public addresses, Harris has regularly reflects on the deep influence that her mother had on her.

“When my mother arrived in the United States from India, she understood that the core of her new home in America is that we not only strive for success, but to leave our country better than we found it, she told the AAPI event.

“That’s the approach she instilled in me, and I know many of you are working toward that same end, she said.

In a short video release later in the day on the occasion of Women’s Equality Day, Harris said that her mother was the greatest source of inspiration in my life.

“She taught me from a young age that I had a responsibility to fight for justice. At the age of 19, she arrived in the United States from India alone and with the dream of curing cancer. She was a woman who believed in solving problems, Harris said.

“In fact, she always used to say, ‘if you see a problem, don’t just sit around complaining about it, do something about it’,” she said.

“On the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, it’s more important than ever that we keep up the fight at the ballot box to honor the women who came before us,” she asserted.

The 19th amendment to the US Constitution granted women the right to vote.

In another tweet along with a video, Harris said that as a young girl, her grandfather would often take her on his morning walks in India, where he’d discuss the importance of fighting for democracy and civil rights.

“That commitment and that fight for a better future live on in me to this day,” she said. — PTI
