According to Khaama Press, citing a Wall Street Journal report, members of the previous government’s intelligence body in Afghanistan are now affiliating with ISIS-K to survive and resist the Taliban. The former security personnel, according to the publication, are mostly US-trained Afghan spies who have joined the terror group in northern Afghanistan. Following the Taliban takeover, the northern resistance was the only resisting group in Panjshri province, co-led by Ahmad Masoud and former first vice president Amrullah Saleh.

Northern resistance, led by Ahmad Masoud and former first vice president Amrullah Saleh, was the lone resistance force in Panjshri province when the Taliban took power. According to Khaama Press, the WSJ report goes on to say that former Afghan spies are joining ISIS-K to reclaim their income after the government collapsed and to fight the Taliban.

There are no foreign takers for the Taliban fifty days after the Sunni Pashtun terrorist army militarily captured Kabul, with India placing the onus on the secrecy of Doha deal makers to take the first step toward recognition of the medieval Islamic regime.

The US special envoy Zalmay Khalilzad, now Taliban deputy prime minister Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, Qatari national security advisor Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Mesned, UK chief of defense staff Nick Carter, and Pakistani army chief Qamar Jawed Bajwa were involved in the so-called Doha Peace Process. No other country has been given access to the details of the Doha process. Behind the scenes, the Taliban’s seizure of Kabul was supported by Russian presidential envoy to Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov and Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi.

Javed Akhtar, the poet and lyricist who was recently in the news for comparing the RSS to the Taliban, condemned the attack on Congress leader Kapil Sibal’s house in New Delhi on Friday, saying that those who attacked Sibal’s house for expressing an opinion about the Congress party’s working process are the same people who criticize the Modi government for “curbing freedom of expression.”

Javed Akhtar said that “Shouldn’t Rahul Gandhi condemn these hooligans in the strongest words? ”

The ‘hooliganism’ outside Kapil Sibal’s residence in response to his remark that G-23, the breakaway Congress leadership group, is not ‘Jee Huzoor 23,’ has essentially split the party into two camps: those who question the high command and those who support it.

Pakistan’s efforts to have the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan recognized on a global scale were crushed when the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) refused to allow a Taliban official to speak at its session, instead of inviting a delegate from the deposed Ashraf Ghani government.

Going by the events of the last week at the United Nations General Assembly, the international community may continue to deny the Taliban rule in Afghanistan any recognition or representation, at least for the time being.

At the United Nations, Pakistan waged a vigorous campaign in support of the Afghan Taliban. It sparked outrage in the United States, disgust in Europe, and domestic opposition to Imran Khan’s government.

Afghanistan’s Taliban-controlled Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has written to India’s aviation regulator, the DGCA, requesting that commercial flights between the two nations be resumed. In this case, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is yet to decide.

On August 15, the day Kabul fell to the Taliban, Air India performed the last commercial flight between India and Afghanistan on the Kabul-Delhi route. On August 16, the CAA designated Afghanistan’s airspace “uncontrolled.”

CAA Acting Minister Alhaj Hameedullah Akhunzada petitioned the DGCA to allow commercial flights of Ariana Afghan airline and Kam Air between India and Afghanistan in a letter dated September 7, 2021.

As per a local newspaper, the Taliban have declared they will construct “a robust and effective administration” for women under Sharia law, as they have kept girls out of school and forced women employees in the Kabul municipal government to “stay home.”

Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid stated that the administration will be established by Islamic principles and that it will not be given the designation of a ministry or sub-division.

The previous government’s women’s ministry did nothing to improve the lives of Afghan women. Despite the presence of the ministry, Mujahid added, women in rural Afghanistan were not provided their basic rights.

After identifying a minor measles outbreak among refugees arriving in Afghanistan, the United States has canceled all evacuation flights. The decision was based on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s recommendation, which cited “health safety issues.”

All countries should interact with the Taliban, according to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, to send the message that the Afghan people should live in peace under an inclusive government that respects basic human rights. Guterres emphasized that the country should no longer be a haven for terrorists.
