]]> Suvendu Adhikari, the Bengal assembly’s leader of the opposition, filed a writ petition in the Calcutta high court on Monday seeking Mukul Roy’s disqualification as an MLA under the anti-defection statute.

 

Adhikari requested that the HC issue an interim directive to Speaker Biman Banerjee, requesting that he decide on the subject within a week. On June 11, Roy, a BJP MLA from Krishnanagar North, joined Trinamool. He said “It has been over three months that Mukul Roy defected to TMC. The speaker is not taking note of the defection yet and not disqualifying him as MLA.”

]]> Based on a complaint by the Trinamool Congress, an FIR has been lodged in Kanthi against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) politician Suvendu Adhikari and his brother for reportedly taking assistance supplies from the municipality.

The complaint has been done by Ratnadip Manna, a member of Kanthi Municipal Administrative Board on June 1 against Adhikari and his brother Soumendu Adhikari, former Municipal Chief of Kanthi Municipality.

On May 29, 2021, at 12:30 p.m., under the command of Suvendu Adhikari and his brother, Soumendu Adhikari, a governmental tripal worth lakhs of rupees was seized from the municipality office godown by violently and unlawfully breaking locks.

According to the accusation, the BJP officials employed armed central troops in the alleged robbery.

]]> Earlier, Mamta Banarjee had spoken about how she had to tolerate ‘insults’ in the meetings with the Prime Minister. She alleged that the CMs were reduced to nothing but puppets. Later, the Prime Minister held a meeting with the District Magistrates. Though there were a few Chief Ministers present, the meeting was especially held to interact with the District Magistrates. Mamta Banarjee fumed at the Prime Minister in the same meeting.

In response to this, Suvendu Adhikari who was formerly a TMC member and presently from BJP said that Bengal’s covid numbers are miserable and the Chief Minister wants to play politics now. He also mentioned that Mamta Banarjee hardly attends meetings with the Prime Minister.
