										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Delhi High Court has dismissed a petition filed by late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s father Krishna Kishore Singh, which proposed a stay on movies that were being made about the actor&#8217;s life. Sushant&#8217;s father had filed a plea restraining anyone from using his son&#8217;s name or likeness in movies, but the HC has now refused a stay on the same. Delhi HC has reportedly refused to stay the release of the film &#8216;Nyay: The Justice&#8217;, purportedly based on the life of Sushant Singh Rajput.</p>
<p>SSR&#8217;s father  has contended that the filmmakers are taking advantage of the situation for commercial gains and therefore, the right to freedom of speech and expression would not apply to them</p>
<p>Plaintiff (Singh) has apprehension that various plays, movies, web-series, books, interviews or other material may be published which would harm the reputation of the son of the plaintiff and his family,&#8221; the suit, which has sought damages of over Rs two crores from the filmmakers for &#8220;loss of reputation, mental trauma and harassment&#8221; to Rajput&#8217;s family, has claimed.</p>
<p>It has also claimed that in case a &#8220;movie, web-series, book or any other content of similar nature is allowed to be published or broadcasted, it would affect the right of the victim and deceased for a free and fair trial as it may cause prejudice to them&#8221;.</p>
<p>The suit has also contended that Rajput being a well-known celebrity, &#8220;any misuse of his name/ image/ caricature/ style of delivering dialogues also amounts to infringement of the personality right vested with the plaintiff besides amounting to acts of passing off&#8221;.</p>
<p>The contention of Rajput&#8217;s father have been opposed by the filmmakers of the upcoming and proposed movies.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The NCB, or Narcotics Control Bureau, investigating the drugs angle in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, filed a 12,000-page chargesheet in the Special NDPS Court on Friday.  In this charge sheet, 33 people have been accused, including actress Riya Chakraborty.  Also 200 people have been made witnesses.  Let us tell you that on June 14, Sushant Singh Rajput allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself, which is being investigated by the three central agencies of CBI, NCB and ED. The NCB had six months to file a chargesheet on the basis of the first arrest made in September.  In August, the NCB registered a drug investigation in a private WhatsApp chat between Riya Chakraborty, her brother Shovik Chakraborty and some employees of Sushant Singh Rajput in an investigation conducted by the ED or the Enforcement Directorate in the Sushant Singh death case.  Then the investigation was started with the drugs angle in this case.  In its 6-month investigation, the agency raided several locations in Maharashtra and uncovered an ongoing drugs racket in the city and within Bollywood. NCB director Sameer Wankhede has filed a chargesheet in the NDPS court.  The NCB chargesheet named 33 people, one of whom is Riya.  At the same time, the names of 200 witnesses are there.  The charge sheet contains more than 12 thousand pages, while there are around 50 thousand digital pages.  After this, the NCB started a thorough investigation, with the arrest of the drug peddlers, the names of several celebrities who were called by the NCB from time to time for questioning include Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh and Sara Ali Khan are included.</p>
