The man’s body was found hanging from a tree near his village last night.
His relatives have alleged he was driven to suicide by the policemen who assaulated him “for no reason” at a vaccination centre in the western UP district, and then later came to his home, where his mother was also beaten.
A 90-second video shot on a mobile phone at the vaccination centre in Baghpat on Monday afternoon has been widely shared on social media.
It shows at least two policemen trying to grab the man . a second person who tries to intervene is pushed away by the cops.

]]>Warrant Officer Inder Pal Singh, 53, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, allegedly shot himself at Air Force Station Kalu Chak on the outskirts of Jammu on Friday, they said.
The officials said Singh’s colleagues rushed him to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
After conducting a postmortem and a COVID-19 test, the body of the deceased was handed over to his family on Saturday, they said.
The motive behind his taking such an extreme step was not known immediately, the officials said, adding that police have started inquest proceedings and further investigation is underway.
This was the second incident of suicide among the IAF personnel posted in the Jammu region this month.
Earlier on August 8, an IAF jawan allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle in Udhampur district. — PTI

]]>The central probe agency has taken cognisance of a Bihar Police first investigation report (FIR) registered against actress Rhea Chakraborty and some others to slap criminal charges under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in its complaint, they said.
The officials said an Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) has been filed in the case related to the death of the actor and alleged financial irregularities being suspected to have been done against the deceased.
The ED had recently sought the FIR copy from the Bihar Police.
Rajput’s father Krishna Kumar Singh, 74, had on Tuesday lodged a police complaint against Chakraborty, her family members and six others on charges of alleged abetment to suicide of his son.
Singh has accused Chakraborty, a budding TV and film actress, of having befriended his son in May 2019 with the intention of furthering her own career.
The ED will probe allegations of alleged mishandling of Rajput’s money and his bank accounts. The agency will probe if anyone used Rajput’s income for money laundering and creating illegal assets, the officials said.
The Mumbai Police is already probing Rajput’s death. Rajput, 34, who had starred in films such as Chichhore, Kai Po Che and Kedarnath, was found hanging in his apartment in Mumbai’s Bandra area on June 14. — PTI

]]>Sushant made a name for himself on the small screen, especially with Pavitra Rishta, where he played the lead role, before jumping to the big screen. Sushant broke on to the big screen with Abhishek Kapoor’s Kai Po Che, based on Chetan Bhagat’s bestselling book The Three Mistakes of My Life.
Kai Po Che catapulted Sushant Singh Rajput, a smalltown boy, into almost overnight fame.
After 2013’s Kai Po Che, Sushant worked in Shuddh Desi Romance with Parineeti Chopra, and then went on to do several films.
He was last seen in Chhichhore opposite Shraddha Kapoor. It was a film directed by Nitesh Tiwari, which dealt with college life and the frustrations of the later years.
The actor’s former manager Disha Salian was found dead a few days ago.
In several interviews over the years, Sushant had always spoken of the loss of his mother as a huge blow to him. In fact, his last social media post, from June 3, was also a tribute to his late mother.
Sushant wrote, “Blurred past evaporating from teardrops unending dreams carving an arc of smile And a fleeting life, negotiating between the two… Ma.”
