<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The probe agency also questioned actress Rhea Chakraborty&#8217;s father for the third consecutive day, he said.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">According to the official, Rhea Chakraborty&#8217;s father Indrajeet Chakraborty arrived at the guest house around 10.30 am in a car escorted by a police vehicle.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">&#8220;It was his third day of questioning, which lasted for around five hours. He left the place around 3.30 pm,&#8221; he added.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Rhea Chakraborty and her family members are accused of abetting the suicide of Rajput, 34, who was found hanging in his flat in Mumbai&#8217;s Bandra area on June 14.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In the last two days, the 28-year-old actress&#8217;s father was questioned for over 18 hours by the CBI. The actress, who was earlier questioned for around 35 hours over four days, and her brother Showik Chakraborty, who was also grilled by the CBI, were not questioned on Thursday.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">However, the probe team quizzed Rajput&#8217;s flatmate Siddharth Pithani and domestic help Deepesh Sawant during the day, the official said. After Rajput&#8217;s demise, the Mumbai Police registered a case of accidental death and recorded statements of over 50 people.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The late actor&#8217;s father subsequently filed a police complaint in Patna, accusing Rhea Chakraborty and her family of abetting his suicide and misappropriating his money.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Supreme Court last month upheld the transfer of the FIR lodged in Patna to the CBI.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">On Wednesday, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) said it has arrested two alleged contraband dealers in connection with the drugs trafficking case linked to the case of Rajput&#8217;s death.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The role of Rhea Chakraborty&#8217;s brother and his purported links with people nabbed by NCB are under the scanner of the agency and he is expected to be summoned for questioning soon, officials said.   &#8212; <em>PTI</em></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">&#8220;Rhea Chakraborty and her brother together reached the DRDO guest house at Kalina in Santacruz, where the probe team is stationed, around 10.30 am,&#8221; he said.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A Mumbai Police vehicle escorted the car in which the two arrived at the guest house, he said.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Rajput&#8217;s manager Samual Miranda and domestic help Keshav also reached the guest house in the morning.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">&#8220;Rhea and her brother left the guest house around 7 pm,&#8221; the official said, adding that the central agency has questioned the actress for around 26 hours in three days.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Four women constables from Vakola Police Station were sent to the DRDO guest house to accompany Rhea during the interrogation, he said.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Rhea had been questioned for nearly 10 hours on Friday and allowed to return home under police escort as a large number of media personnel were present outside her building.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"> The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has filed a money laundering case in connection with the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, officials said on Friday.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The central probe agency has taken cognisance of a Bihar Police first investigation report (FIR) registered against actress Rhea Chakraborty and some others to slap criminal charges under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in its complaint, they said.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The officials said an Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) has been filed in the case related to the death of the actor and alleged financial irregularities being suspected to have been done against the deceased.<br>The ED had recently sought the FIR copy from the Bihar Police.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Rajput&#8217;s father Krishna Kumar Singh, 74, had on Tuesday lodged a police complaint against Chakraborty, her family members and six others on charges of alleged abetment to suicide of his son.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Singh has accused Chakraborty, a budding TV and film actress, of having befriended his son in May 2019 with the intention of furthering her own career.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The ED will probe allegations of alleged mishandling of Rajput&#8217;s money and his bank accounts. The agency will probe if anyone used Rajput&#8217;s income for money laundering and creating illegal assets, the officials said.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Mumbai Police is already probing Rajput&#8217;s death. Rajput, 34, who had starred in films such as <em>Chichhore</em>, <em>Kai Po Che</em> and <em>Kedarnath</em>, was found hanging in his apartment in Mumbai&#8217;s Bandra area on June 14.   &#8212; <em>PTI</em></p>
