<p>If no new virulent appears, according to Manindra Agrawal, an IIT-Kanpur scientist who is part of a three-member committee of experts tasked with forecasting any surge in infections, the situation is unlikely to alter.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A panel of three members Professor Mahindra Aggarwal from IIT Kanpur; M. Vidhyasagar, a scientist involved in the Sutra Model and K. VijayRaghavan, Principal Scientific Advisor spoke on the second and third waves of Covid in India.</p>
<p>The second wave of Covid in India is likely to decline by July this year. According to them, by the end of May India is expected to see 1.5 lakh cases per day. They have further predicted that by the end of July the cases could go down to 20,000 per day. These predictions are based on SUTRA- Susceptible, Undetected, Tested and Removed approach. It is a mathematical model that helps to project the trajectory of Covid-19.</p>
<p>Speaking of the third wave, Mr. Vidhyasagar told that if the vaccination drive is not ramped up and the right behavior to fight covid is not maintained there could be a third wave 6-8 months later. However he also mentioned that the SUTRA model has not predicted any third wave and it is being worked on.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Indian Medical Association on Tuesday, 18th May announced the list of doctors lost to Covid across the country. While last tear the count was 748, this year in a short span of time we have lost 270 doctors. IMA President Dr. JA Jaylal said ,&#8221;The second wave is turning out to be extremely fatal for all and especially for the Healthcare workers who are at the forefront.&#8221;</p>
<p>Ex-chief of IMA, Padma shri Dr. KK Aggarwal who was admitted to IIMS and was on ventilator support since last week also passed away due to Covid. Dr. Aggarwal was seen posting various videos from the hospital while battling Covid and in one such video he was seen saying &#8220;Picture abhi baaki hai&#8230;the show must go on.&#8221; Later his team started posting on his behalf.</p>
<p>The list showed maximum number of deaths of medical practitioners in Bihar, it was 78. Followed by 37 deaths in Uttar Pradesh and 22 in Andhra Pradesh.</p>
