										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A devastating road accident took place in Agra when a speeding container truck collided with an auto rickshaw resulting in the death of six people and leaving two others seriously injured. The victims were returning from a religious pilgrimage when the incident occurred.</p>

<p>The deceased have been identified as residents of Ghatwas village in Hathras district. Those who lost their lives include Chaudhary Udayveer Singh aged sixty two Vijay Singh Gautam aged forty Chaudhary Ranveer Singh aged seventy five Billa Mishra aged fifty five and Lakshmi Chand aged sixty. The auto driver Sarfaraz Khan a resident of Badaun also died in the accident.</p>
<p>Two other passengers including a retired police officer Vijay Singh and Dhan Prasad sustained serious injuries and were rushed to hospital for treatment. Doctors have described their condition as critical. In another auto that was hit while the container driver attempted to flee several people were injured including women and a child.</p>
<p>Eyewitnesses said the container first rammed into the pilgrims auto and then crashed into another auto nearby. Blood was scattered across the road and injured passengers were seen crying for help. Angry locals gathered at the spot and caught hold of the container driver beating him before handing him over to the police.</p>
<p>Police officials stated that a case has been registered against the container driver and further investigation is underway. Authorities have assured strict action and appealed to drivers to maintain speed limits to avoid such tragic incidents.</p>

<p data-start="1470" data-end="1749">According to officials, the tragic incident occurred around <strong data-start="1530" data-end="1540">3 a.m.</strong> when the bus <strong data-start="1554" data-end="1583">collided with a motorbike</strong>, triggering a massive fire that engulfed the entire vehicle within minutes. Many passengers were <strong data-start="1681" data-end="1703">asleep at the time</strong>, leaving them with <strong data-start="1723" data-end="1746">no chance to escape</strong>.</p>
<p data-start="1751" data-end="1911">Most of the <strong data-start="1763" data-end="1804">victims were burnt beyond recognition</strong>, and the inferno <strong data-start="1822" data-end="1854">completely destroyed the bus</strong>, leaving behind nothing but a <strong data-start="1885" data-end="1908">charred metal frame</strong>.</p>

<p>The bus was en route from Sialkot to Rajanpur when the accident took place on the Indus Highway near Taunsa bypass in Dera Ghazi Khan district, some 430 km from Lahore.</p>
<p>The majority of the passengers were labourers who were going to their hometown to celebrate Eid-ul Azha on Wednesday, officials said.</p>
<p>The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital where medical staff confirmed the death of 18 people upon their arrival.</p>
<p>Minister of Information and Broadcasting of Pakistan Fawad Chaudhry in a tweet confirmed that at least thirty people have lost their lives in the accident near Dera Ghazi Khan.</p>
<p>He appealed to public vehicle drivers to drive carefully for the safety of passengers.</p>
