<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Saturday the ongoing Kumbh in Haridwar should now have symbolic participation due to the Covid-19 crisis.<br>Modi tweeted that he spoke to Swami Avdheshanand Giri of Juna Akhara over telephone and enquired about the health of saints, many of whom have contracted the infection, and also conveyed his appreciation for their cooperation with the local administration.<br>“I prayed that two ‘shahi snan’ have taken place and Kumbh (participation) should now be kept symbolic. This will boost the fight against this crisis,” the prime minister tweeted in Hindi.<br>The ongoing Kumbh, which has seen people from different parts of the country attending the auspicious event in large numbers, has drawn flak from various quarters as the number of Covid-19 cases has zoomed at a rapid pace in the past few weeks. The event has also reported the coronavirus cases in large numbers.<br>The ongoing Kumbh has already been shortened this year to just one month from April 1 to 30 due to the pandemic. <p class="wp-block-paragraph">Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday came down heavily on the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) and Congress-led opposition United Democratic Front (UDF) and said both were twin brothers and their uninspiring leadership had crippled the state and its developmental activities.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Addressing a public meeting at the state capital he said both were friends in West Bengal but in Kerala they pretend as if they are sworn enemies. “Both are like twins. Twin brothers, in mis-governance, corruption and violence. It is better for them to merge and take a new name Comrade Congress Party,” he said.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">He said for many decades the state has been experimenting with alternate formations and now people were fed up with both and they had started looking to the BJP-led National Democratic Front to get out of the stagnant bipolar politics. He said the Centre has introduced many programmes like the PM Awas Yojana to help the homeless and Jal Jeevan Mission to ensure safe drinking water but the state had failed to implement these programmes fearing the BJP and Modi will get acceptance.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">“There is a huge wave of support for the NDA in Kerala and neighbouring Tamil Nadu. People have realised the politics of development. The NDA is wedded to local flavour with national interest. The situation will change in Kerala this time,” he said.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Earlier in the day he addressed another rally in Pathanamitta, district where the famous hill temple Sabarimala is situated. He tore into the Left Front government saying instead of greeting devotees with flowers they were dealt with lathis. “I bow my head before devotees and their discipline and devotion make this land holier,” he said.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">“From Swami Ayyappa (presiding deity) we learn the importance of doing good to others and being compassionate. But, what has the LDF done? First, they try to distort the picture of Kerala and try to show its culture as backward. Then, they try to destabilise sacred places by using their agents to carry out mischief,” he said.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Modi government at the Center has written a letter to the Punjab government asking to investigate the complaints of BSF of bonding laborers of Bihar and UP in the state and giving them drugs for long-term work.<br> According to the English newspaper The Indian Express, the Ministry of Home Affairs wrote a letter to the Punjab Chief Secretary and the Chief of Police on March 17 stating that in 2019-20, BSF had caught 58 such workers in the districts along the international border of Punjab.<br> It is noteworthy that the farmers of Punjab are protesting against the three agricultural laws of the Center on the borders of Delhi.  After this letter came to the fore, the leaders of farmers organizations have criticized it a lot.<br> Jagmohan Singh, general secretary of BKU Dakonda and member of All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee, has accused the central government of &#8216;tarnishing the image of farmers&#8217;.<br> A Punjab Police officer has confirmed the things written in the letter to the newspaper on the condition of anonymity, but he says that the results of this investigation are &#8216;unrealistic&#8217;.The letter written by the Center states, &#8220;Inquiries from workers found from the border areas like Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Ferozepur and Abohar revealed that either of them were mentally incapacitated or were in weak condition to be given bonded labor.  Those arrested were from poor families in far-flung areas of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. &#8220;<br> Referring to human trafficking in the letter, it is said that they are brought from their homes in the name of good salaries and bonded labor is done here.  They are given drugs to work in the fields for a long time, which causes them physical and mental harm.<br> Jagmohan Singh says that the central government is now playing another communal card after calling us &#8216;Khalistani and terrorists&#8217;.  Why is the survey conducted in BSF 2019-20 now being sent to the Punjab government when the performance of farmers is at its peak?<br> Delhi University teacher G.N., who was sentenced to life imprisonment by a Maharashtra court in the year 2017 for ties with Maoist organizations.  Saibaba has been expelled from Ramlal Anand College.<br> According to the English newspaper Hindustan Times, Delhi University officials say that the decision has been taken according to the rules.<br> In a note sent to Saibaba&#8217;s family on Thursday, the college principal Rajesh Gupta wrote, &#8220;The services of Assistant Professor GN Saibaba at Ramlal Anand College are being terminated on 31 March 2021. Three months&#8217; salary is paid in his savings bank account.  Has been done.&#8221;<br> Saibaba&#8217;s wife Vasantha Kumari has confirmed the receipt of the letter and also said that it did not state the reason for his expulsion from the college.<br> University of Delhi Dean of College Balaram Pani said that the governing body of the college has decided according to the rules already in place.<br><br> Corona Vaccination: Walk-in registrations more than double as compared to online<br> The English newspaper The Times of India says that the number of walk-in registrations has been much higher than the online registration for the Corona virus vaccination across the country.<br> According to the newspaper report, 7 crore registrations for vaccination were done in the country till 9 pm on Friday night, out of which 1 crore went online while 3.75 crore people went to the vaccination center and got vaccinated.<br> Apart from this, there are 23 million health and frontline workers whose information is already available in the Co-Win software.<br> At the same time, 22 lakh registrations were done till 9 pm on Friday only.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><br> CBSE will not reduce syllabus for 2021-22 academic session<br> According to the new syllabus, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided not to reduce the syllabus for students from class 9 to 12 in the 2021-22 academic session.<br> The Economic Times newspaper says that CBSE had reduced the syllabus from ninth grade to 12th grade by 30% in the 2020-21 session due to the Kovid-19 crisis.<br> Students who have read this reduced syllabus will appear in the examinations to be held in May-June.<br> The new syllabus released by CBSE also includes the chapters and topics which were removed in the last academic session.<br> A CBSE official says that the board had announced last year that they were reducing syllabus only for one time as online medium or study through different mediums was a very new thing.</p>

For this reason, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi, BJP President JP Nadda and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat will be part of the program organized on the occasion of the festival.  Apart from this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has greeted the countrymen on Makar Sankranti and Pongal.<br>    Wishing the people of Makar Sankranti, Prime Minister Modi wrote, &#8216;Many congratulations to the countrymen on Makar Sankranti.  My wish is that Uttarayan Suryadev will infuse new energy and new enthusiasm in everyone&#8217;s life.
