Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of spreading “misconceptions, confusion and lies” about COVID-19 vaccines, which was leading to many people “putting their lives in danger” by refusing to take the doses.

He was reacting to a tweet by Rahul Gandhi in which the latter had taken a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s radio programme Mann Ki Baat.

“Bas Har Deshwasi Tak Vaccine Pahucha Do, Fir Chahe Mann Ki Baat Bhi Suna Do!” (Just deliver the vaccine to every citizen, and then put forth your Mann ki Baat if you want),” Rahul Gandhi had tweeted.

Hitting back, the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister said the PM was providing free vaccines to all, while Rahul Gandhi was “only spreading confusion”.

“Shame on you Rahul Baba, it is prime minister Narendra Modi who is getting people vaccinated and not you. The prime minister is providing free vaccines to all the citizens of the country and you are only spreading confusion! You spread confusion, lied due to which many people refused to get vaccines,” Shivraj Singh Chouhan said on Twitter.

A day after the Union government claimed to have made the Covid-19 vaccine registration portal, Co-WIN, more “citizen friendly”, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi said that online registration for vaccination was not enough. He advocated that everyone who wished to get vaccinated be given a jab on walk-in basis at vaccination centres.

On Wednesday, the government had announced that many rectification features had been introduced to the Co-WIN registration portal using which beneficiaries could now correct their name, year of birth, and gender on vaccination certificates and also raise an issue.

Rahul Gandhi tweeted in Hindi, “Online registration for vaccination is not enough. Everyone walking in to a vaccination centre should get the vaccine. Right to life belongs to those as well who do not have the internet.”

Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Friday did a direct attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the uncontrolled agitation of farmers and the declining economy of the country, saying that he should take steps to deal with the situation, leaving arrogance and dictatorial attitude. Mr. Gandhi tweeted, “The Prime Minister should have remembered whenever ego hits the truth, it is defeated.”  No government in the world can stop the farmers fighting the battle for truth.  The Modi government has to accept the demands of the farmers and black laws will have to be withdrawn.  this is only the beginning.” He also raised Mr. Modi in the dock about the deteriorating economy of the country and said that the economy cannot grow in a dictatorial manner and Mr. Modi needs to keep this in mind. Mr. Gandhi said, “For the first time under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, India’s economy has officially come into recession.  More importantly, three crore people are looking for employment under MNREGA.  The economy cannot be carried forward through dictatorship.  The Prime Minister first needs to understand this basic thing. “
