]]> A curfew has been enforced in Amravati city following more violent outbursts on Saturday morning, when a mob of hundreds went on the rampage, trashing shops and private property, while local police, outmanned and outgunned, failed to stop them despite deploying a lathi charge. To control the mob, the Maharashtra Police dispatched four companies of the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) and another 125 police officers.

 

Around 10 a.m., numerous television outlets broadcast footage of a mob damaging businesses in the sight of police officers, including a female cop who is seen slapping them.

]]> A bitter dispute has broken out in the Rajkot royal family of Gujarat over the ancestral property worth hundreds of crores with one of the members moving court.

Ambalika Devi, the sister of Mandhatasinh Jadeja, who is the 17th king of the over 400-year-old erstwhile princely state of Rajkot in Gujarat, has filed a suit in the city civil court against the release deed and the will of her father Manoharsinh Jadeja, her lawyer Ketan Sindhava said on Wednesday.

She has challenged the release deed which construed that she had relinquished her right on inheritance property.

Ambalika Devi, who lives in Jhansi, has claimed she was made to sign a release deed by her brother Mandhatasinh Jadeja in 2019 when she visited Rajkot following her father’s death, “by keeping her in the dark and ill-informed”, he said.

]]> Cyclone Tauktae hit major parts of Mumbai on Monday. Several properties including houses and offices are damaged. Amitabh Bachhan’s office also came under the effects of the cyclone. The megastar informed through a blog that his office, Janak was flooded last night. He also added that  the heavy winds also affected his staff’s shelters.

He wrote,”There is an eerie silence in the midst of the cyclone…the pounding and the lashing rains all day.. trees fell, leakages all over, flooding in the vulnerable Janak Office..impromptu plastic cover sheets still in prep for the heavy monsoon rain, ripped apart.. sheds and shelters for some staff blown away.. BUT the spirit of fight impregnable… all hands on deck… stepping out, repairing, preventing helping in extenuating circumstances drenched.. but on it”.

He added that the staff is simply amazing in such conditions, their uniforms were wet and dripping but they continued. The megastar also gave them an immediate change of clothes from his own wardrobe. He also tweeted,”T 3906- The winds and the rain of cyclone Tauktae lashes us with intense ferocity.. my prayers for all to be safe and protected”.
