<p>The protest came in the wake of the Supreme Court’s order of 11th August 2025, which has left animal defenders across the country shocked and numb. Reports of force being used against peaceful protesters, and the forcible catching of dogs in Delhi without following mandatory due process, have deeply disturbed citizens nationwide. The issue was significant enough that even the Hon’ble Chief Justice of India took notice and referred the matter to a larger bench on 14th August.
