										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The ministry of finance has called Infosys MD and CEO Salil Parekh to explain to finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman why the Income Tax portal&#8217;s faults have not been rectified even though it has been up and running for over two months.</p>
<p>Given that the portal has been unavailable since August 21, the Infosys senior executive will be questioned about why several issues continue to obstruct its proper operation.</p>
<p>From the day of its launch on June 7, the new income tax e-filing platform www.incometax.gov.in had a rocky start due to technical issues. The government paid Infosys Rs. 164.5 crores for creating the portal between January 2019 and June 2021.</p>
