]]>His wife Sheeba had passed away on August 12 following a cardiac arrest.
Naushad was introduced to the culinary world by his father who had a catering business in Thiruvalla. After completing his hotel management course, he became a full-time chef and shot into the spotlight by hosting cooking shows on television.
He opened a restaurant chain ‘Naushad the big chef’ across Kerala and different parts of the world that served many of his signature dishes. Naushad has also cooked for a wide host of celebrities, VIPs and VVIPs. He was particularly known for popularising different varieties of biryani.
Naushad entered the Malayalam film world as a producer through his friendship with acclaimed director Blessy. Besides bankrolling Blessy’s film Kazhcha starring Mammootty in the lead role, he also produced Spanish Masala, Best Actor, Lion and Payyans.

]]>He was admitted to the ICU at the Kokilaben Ambani Hospital in Mumbai, after he was diagnosed with advanced liver cancer ( Stage 4 ) three weeks ago.
Previously, Pradeep Guha was put under the treatment of the best specialists in Mumbai, who have also consulted with counterparts in Sloan Kettering, New York. Unfortunately, the aggressive nature of the disease led to rapid deterioration in his condition, within the next 48-72 hours.
Pradeep was survived by his wife Papia and son Sanket who have always been by his side during his treatment in the hospital.
Meanwhile, filmmaker Shubash Ghai tweeted, “Good bye my friend #Pradeep Guha I will always be indebted for your genuine love n support to I needed n we all @whistling_woods international 4 your enriched guidance as a director on board since its birth. U were the makers of many in our industry RIP MY FRIEND”.
On the work front, Guha had worked with The Times Of India group for nearly 3 decades and held the designation of President. Later in 2005, he moved to Zee Telefilm as their CEO.

]]>Jagjit Kaur began her musical career in the ’50s. She also sang tracks for films like Posti and Dil-e-Nadan. She got married to Khayyam in 1954. She also sang a song in the Khayyam-composed memorable soundtracks of Umrao Jaan in 1981.
Her husband Khayyam died in a Mumbai hospital in August 2019. He died at the age of 92. The legendry music composer, best known for his music in films such as Kabhi Kabhie and Umrao Jaan, died after suffering from a lung ailment at Sujay Hospital in Juhu.
Khayyam, who started his musical career at the age of 17, was also a recipient of Sangeet Natak Akademi Award and Padma Bhushan. He was also honoured with the National Award and Filmfare Award. His other notable works included films such as Trishul, Noorie and Shola Aur Shabnam. He had also composed music for actress Meena Kumari’s album I Write, I Recite.

]]>Actor Yashpal Sharma told ANI that he rushed to the hospital after reading reports of Anupam Shyam passing away. “I got to know that he’s no more. So we rushed here & found he was still breathing. The doctor later declared him dead. He was hospitalised for 4 days. He had high blood sugar and used to take injections during shooting of his last film: Actor Yashpal Sharma on Anupam Shyam’s death,” read the news agency tweet.
Members of the entertainment industry including Ranvir Shorey, Rajan Shahi also expressed their condolences.
Actor Manoj Joshi, tweeted: “Saddened by the demise of my friend and very talented actor Anupam Shyam ji. We have lost a great man. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

The official social media account of the Mumbai Press Club tweeted about Irani’s demise.
“Rashid Irani, 74, one of the country’s foremost film critics, passed away probably on 30 July at home. He was not seen for 2-3 days; a search by friends, club officials and police led to his home, where his mortal remains were found,” the press club said in a statement.
Irani, who had contributed several articles in national dailies like Times of India, Hindustan Times and the website Scroll.in, was “one of the pillars of the Mumbai Press Club Film Society”, the club further said in the statement.
