The post Delhi’s Covid positivity rate lowest since April 4 appeared first on The Edge Media.
]]>The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared that if the positivity rate falls below 5 per cent, then it is considered as the safe zone. This would now create a pressure on the Delhi government to lift the lockdown. The Medical experts say that lockdown is the main factor for the decline in cases.
The daily cases recorded in the last 24 hours is also the lowest since April 1. The active cases in Delhi has now reached below 36,000. The recovery rate in the city is 95.85 per cent and the death rate is 1.62 per cent. Delhi has faced the worst since the spread of the second wave. The state suffered a lack of oxygen, hospital beds, druga and also vaccines.

]]>He told the reporters,”So far, 90 people have died due to mucormycosis in Maharashtra. It is serious… It should not be taken lightly. Indiscrimate use of steroids to treat COVID patients should be avoided”.
Mr. Tope said that the factors like severe diabetes and suppression of the immune system also leads to catching the virus. The medical experts say that steroids are also a major factor in spreading of the virus.
Mr. Tope added,”The Maharashtra government is prepared to tackle it and has prepared nine-page guidelines for doctors who treat mucormycosis patients. The guidelines also suggest preventive measures such as use of sterilised and distilled water in humidifiers of oxygen supplying machines (in Covid-19 wards)”.
As compared to the first wave, the cases of Black Fungus has rapidly increased in the second wave.

]]>From a state health minister’s brainwave to South Block’s intervention, and from the Indian ambassador’s prompt approach to the Bhutanese King’s personal attention, this is a story of close-knit coordination between states, the Centre, embassy, and a foreign country.
The Sunday Express spoke to officials in both countries to piece together the story that India is likely to get 40 metric tonnes of oxygen every day — equivalent to 10,000 Oxygen cylinders — from Bhutan next month.
On April 25, Himanta Biswa Sarma, then Assam Health minister and the state’s new Chief Minister, was chatting with Pravin Jain, director of Guwahati-based Meghalaya Oxygen company, about their joint venture project in eastern Bhutanese district of Samdrup Jongkhar, only 7 km opposite Assam’s Baksa district. During the conversation, Jain mention that their plans to produce liquid oxygen in Bhutan had been put on hold due to pandemic-related restrictions in the neighbouring nation.

New Delhi: Oxygen concentrator banks have been set up in every district in Delhi to give a boost to the fight against coronavirus, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said today. Covid patients in home isolation can ask for home delivery of these oxygen concentrators at their doorstep.
“From today, we are starting a very important service – we’re setting up oxygen concentrator banks. In every district, there will be a bank with 200 oxygen concentrators. It has been seen that Covid patients often need to get admitted to ICUs when they’re not given medical oxygen when needed. Many patients sometimes die. We have set up these banks to fulfill these gaps,” Arvind Kejriwal said in a televised briefing.
“If any patient – in home isolation – needs medical oxygen, our teams will reach at their doorstep within two hours. One person – aware of the technical know-how- will be a part of the team to help the patient and their families,” he added.
Patients who have been discharged but still need medical oxygen can use these oxygen concentrators too. “Our doctors will be in touch with the patients till they recover so that if they need to be hospitalised, timely action can be taken,” Mr Kejriwal said, adding that any patient can dial up 103 to take the service. “However, our team will make sure that you’re actually in need,” the Chief Minister said.

]]>The young man Shashank Yadav tagged Bollywood actor Sonu Sood with his Twitter handle on the night of 26 April in a tweet saying, “Oxygen cylinders are needed at the earliest.
After seeing Shashank’s tweet, regional BJP MP and Union Minister Smriti Irani said in a tweet made on April 27, “I called Shashank thrice but the phone did not pick up.” I have asked the District Magistrate and Amethi Police to help the needy person.
Amethi Superintendent of Police Dinesh Singh said, “Shashank had asked to provide oxygen for his maternal grandfather , although he did not write in the tweet that his maternal grandfather covid- 19 are infected or not.
Singh said, “When Shashank’s mobile number was called, he did not pick up the phone. We thought that he might be in trouble, so he is not picking up the phone. After that we used surveillance and after finding out Shashank’s presence we reached his house. Where he was sleeping.
The Superintendent of Police claimed that Shashank’s house was 20 km from his maternal grandfather’s house and that he had gone there for barely five minutes after which He tweeted that. It is evident that Shashank’s motive was to spread sensation and fear by tweeting.
He said that a case has been registered against Shashank under the relevant sections of the Epidemic Act and he has been given a warning under section 41 of the Criminal Procedure Code after serving the notice.
Meanwhile, the district’s chief medical officer, Dr Ashutosh Dubey, said that Shashank’s maternal grandfather had not been tested for covid-19 and was undergoing treatment in a private hospital.
He was also not taken to the nearby Ramganj or Community Health Center in Bhadar. The Chief Medical Officer said that the claim of Shashank’s maternal grandfather’s death due to lack of oxygen is also not correct.
Amethi police said in one of its tweets, “Neither the patient was infected with covid-19 nor he need oxygen. He died of a heart attack on 26 April. The kind of tweet that Shashank tweeted is not only condemnable but also punishable.

]]>So far hundreds of patients have died of oxygen deficiency in the country. The Government of India is taking all possible steps to save the lives of patients till setting up an oxygen plant and importing it abroad.
Meanwhile, Hanuman Mal Bengani, a former vice president of Lynde, one of the largest oxygen producing companies in the country, wrote posts on social media to further address the causes of the oxygen crisis.
Former Lynde vice president Hanuman Mal Bengani wrote a long post on social media about the scarcity of oxygen. He wrote, “I have spent 45 years of my life in the oxygen industry. As Lynde business head, oxygen production capacity in India was increased by 50 percent. I am sharing some facts based on my experience and information, which can help you understand the oxygen crisis. ”
Hanuman Mal Bengani stated that industrial and medical oxygen are products of the same plant, which are stored in the same tank and cylinder. There is not much difference between the two. For medical oxygen, the gas company will have to analyze and certify each batch. Industrial works require 99.5 percent pure oxygen, while according to medical experts, 93 percent pure oxygen is needed.
The former vice president of Lynde said that there is no shortage of oxygen in the country. You would be surprised to know that only one percent of the total oxygen production capacity is used in the medical field. It is being used up to 5 percent in the Corona crisis, not more than this.

]]>A large number of corona patients are in need of oxygen, but due to acute shortage of oxygen across the country, many patients are losing their lives.
In view of such a severe situation, the Union Health Ministry has suggested some easy methods of breathing for the patients who are having trouble breathing.
pruning process can greatly help corona patients improve their oxygen levels.
According to the Ministry of Health, proneing is a process by which the patient can maintain his oxygen level on his own.
Prone position oxygenation techniques are up to 80 percent effective. This process has to be completed by lying on the stomach. This procedure is medically acceptable, which improves breathing and supports oxygen levels. Pruning is very helpful for corona patients in home isolation.
The prone position is safe and can be controlled if oxygen levels in the blood deteriorate. This has led to good results in patients admitted to the ICU as well. This process is most effective if the ventilator is not found.
