Kerala’s administration stated on Saturday that a night curfew will be implemented in the state starting next week to prevent the spread of Covid-19. From next week, a review meeting convened by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will impose a night curfew from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

 

Since July 27, when the state’s limits were eased for a few days due to two festivals, the state has logged more than or close to 20,000 cases practically every day. Kerala reported 31,265 Covid instances in the previous 24 hours on Saturday. The state has reported over 30,000 daily infections for the fourth day in a row. With 153 fresh deaths, the total number of people killed has now reached 20,466. The test positive percentage was found to be 18.67%.

The Karnataka government on Friday announced weekend lockdown and night curfew from 9 pm to 5 am on Monday, in districts bordering Kerala and Maharashtra, and that the existing night curfew across the state from today.

At least 8 border Districts of Karnataka including Mysore, Chamaraja Nagar, Mangalore, Kodagu

Belagavi, Bidar, Kalaburgi and Vijayapura, will be under strict vigilance

The Chief Minister on Friday chaired a meeting with health and education experts, Ministers and senior officials of the state government to discuss the COVID-19 situation in the state.

“We have discussed the current COVID situation, also some directions have come at the all-India level about the possible increase or decrease in the positivity rate in the days to come, based on that we have come to certain decisions,” Bommai said.

Speaking to reporters here, he said, we have decided to impose weekend curfew in districts bordering Kerala and Maharashtra and the night curfew in force across the state will begin from 9 PM itself instead of 10 PM (it will be from 9 PM to 5 AM), and police have been asked to implement it strictly.

Currently, night curfew in the state is from 10 PM to 5 AM.

Kerala has been reporting more than 20,000 fresh Covid cases in the past 10 days. Following the spike, Karnataka has made it mandatory for travellers from Kerala and Maharashtra to produce a negative RT-PCR test report irrespective of their vaccination status.

Persons arriving from Kerala, Maharashtra should produce a negative RT-PCR certificate, that is not older than 72 hours. The condition applies for all the passengers arrivingto Karnataka by flight, bus, train and personal transport.

The Gujarat government announced the extension of the night curfew in its 36 cities on Monday. The curfew is extended for 3 days in cities including nine metros. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani took the decision. The restrictions are limited including the curfew between 8 pm and 6 am.

The restrictions are currently working in other regions of Gujarat except these 36 cities. Restrictions currently are imposed in Gujarat in other parts will continue between May 18, 6 am to May 20, 6 am.

Mr Rupani also said that the government will take actions on whether to extend the night curfew and other restrictions after May 20. The government has only allowed the continuation of essential services and activities within these three days in view of the centre’s guidelines. Offices will have to ensure the employee strength of 50 per cent on working days. The strength in marriages must be of 50 people whereas in funeral it must be 20.

To prevent the growing infection of corona in UP, the state government has announced a 35-hour corona curfew from 8 pm on Saturday night.  
This curfew will remain till seven in the morning on Monday.  Chief Secretary Rajendra Kumar Tiwari has given detailed guidelines to the officials regarding the Corona curfew.
 Necessary services during the Corona curfew, polling parties connected with Panchayat elections, health workers, cleanliness, etc., will be allowed to travel. 
 

During this period, the Sanitation and Fogging will be carried out by the Fire Department at the Municipal Corporation, Nagar Panchayat and Gram Panchayat level and by the sugar mills by running a special campaign for cleanliness. 

 The Chief Secretary has instructed the officials to ensure the imperative of masks in cities and rural areas.  Failure to comply with this should be punished with a fine of Rs 1000 for the first time and a maximum fine of Rs 10,000 for the second time. 
 Instructions have been given to make the police station responsible for enforcing the imperative of masks.  Senior officers of police and administration will also inspect the main roads, squares and markets and implement the imperative of masks.

 According to the mandate of the Revenue Department and Health Department’s guide line in each district, instructions have been given to make the Quarantine Center available today i.e. by Thursday night.  

The District Magistrate and the Revenue Officer concerned will be responsible for the districts from which this information is not given till Thursday night.  Instructions have been given to police officers at the district level to review the arrangements made to prevent infection of corona in police personnel.  

Camps have been asked to be conducted in the police line.  Instructions have been given to the fire department for daily fogging on the police line, police post, police station and police office.  

The Commissioner of Police, District Magistrate, Senior Superintendent of Police, Superintendents of Police have been instructed to ensure the system of screening and testing at railway stations, bus stations and airports.  

Drug inspectors have been asked to arrange oxygen supply in government, private hospitals, private medical colleges.  

The Chief Secretary has said that resources are needed to protect covid-19 in male corporations.  The municipal corporations have been asked to immediately send the demand letter to the Municipal Development Department and the Revenue Department.

The Delhi government has decided to impose night curfew in the city, in view of the increasing cases of corona in Delhi and the rising infection rate.  As per the order issued by the government, the night curfew has come into force with immediate effect and the night curfew will remain in force till 30 April.  The order issued by the Chief Secretary said that this step has been taken with regard to the safety of the people of Delhi, because there has been a lot of jump in the corona cases in Delhi.  Let’s know the highlights of the guidelines issued for the night curfew …
 Know who will get discount 1. No stop on traffic movement, public vehicles like bus, metro, auto, taxi will run

 2. Only those people who are exempted from the night curfew will be allowed to sit in such modes of public transport.
 3. Leave to leave the house to get vaccinated at night, but e-pass will have to be made

 4. Shoppers of ration, general, fruits, vegetables, medical stores will also have to make e-passes.
 5. People associated with print and electronic media will also have to take e-pass.6. If you are going to the airport, railway station, bus terminal then you have to show the ticket, then you will get the exemption from the curfew
 7. Private doctors, nurses, paramedical staff exempted from night curfew, they have to show identity card

 8. There is no restriction for pregnant women and patients going for treatment.
 Purpose of prohibiting non-essential activities In fact, the government says that the basic purpose of the night curfew is to curb the non-essential activities of the people.  People who provide essential services and those who are discharged from essential work and freight operations will be outside the purview of the night curfew.  Night curfew will be imposed from 10 to 5 in the night.  Keep in mind that night curfew is also applicable in Maharashtra, but there is a night curfew in force from 8 o’clock.

 Special features of night curfew in Delhi In Delhi, between 10 am and 5 am, it will be prohibited to get out of the house and roam on the streets.  Those who violate this rule will have to pay a fine.  According to different categories, some people will be exempted from the night curfew.  In these, people connected with different types of essential services will be allowed to move.  Some people will be exempted from the night curfew after showing e-passes.  They will be issued an e-pass from the appropriate authority.


 Freight work in the night curfew will not be affected.  The order clearly states that interstate and intrastate movements, transportation (goods) will not be banned.  The government directive states that drivers will not have to make separate clearance or e-pass to move goods in or out of Delhi.

In serious situation of Corona in Delhi-NCR, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh announced new restrictions in the state on Wednesday.  Night curfew has been imposed again in all cities and towns.  Also, the penalty will be doubled for not wearing masks or following social distance from December 1.
 All hotels, restaurants and marriage palaces in Punjab will be closed at 9.30 pm.  Night curfew will remain in force from 10 am to 5 am.  A spokesman of the Punjab government said that for not following the Corona Protocol, now a fine of up to 1000 rupees will be imposed instead of 500 rupees.  The night curfew will be reviewed on 15 December.
 In influx of Delhi patients in Punjab, it has also been decided to review and optimize bed availability in private hospitals of the state.  The Chief Minister has asked Chief Secretary Vini Mahajan to work with the concerned departments so that the corona can be availed with the help of more private hospitals for the corona.
