]]>Visitors trying to access CNN.com got a message that said: “Fastly error: unknown domain: cnn.com.” Attempts to access the Financial Times website turned up a similar message while visits to the New York Times and UK government’s gov.uk site returned an “Error 503 Service Unavailable“ message, along with the line “Varnish cache server,“ which is a technology that Fastly is built on.
Down Detector, which tracks internet outages, said: “Reports indicate there may be a widespread outage at Fastly, which may be impacting your service.”
In a detailed thread on Twitter, the Guardian’s UK technology correspondent Alex Hern wrote that the “massive internet outage” has been traced to a failure in a content delivery network (CDN) run by Fastly.”
His thread also notes that the the outage, which began shortly before 11am UK time, saw visitors to a vast array of sites receive error messages including “Error 503 Service Unavailable” and a terse “connection failure”. When we tried accessing CNN, we also get the 503 error.
According to Hern’s thread the problem can be traced to Fastly, which is a cloud computing services provider, and runs an “edge cloud that is supposed to speed up loading times for websites, protect them from denial-of-service attacks, and help them deal with bursts of traffic.”
On its status page, Fastly says the issue has been identified and a fix has been implemented. It adds that customers may experience increased origin load as global services return. The status page noted nearly an hour back that they are “currently investigating potential impact to performance with our CDN services.”

Twitter has earlier mentioned that one of the main features of Super Follows will be bonus content, such as exclusive tweets for Super Followers.
Wong also pointed towards a list of content categories that Super Follows users would choose from, in order to describe their content. She also notes that “adult content” and “OnlyFans” are listed as “content platforms,” along with Facebook, Substack, Patreon, Twitch, and YouTube. Twitter refused to comment on Wong’s latest findings. The micro-blogging site had earlier described the Super Follows feature as a kind of a subscription, providing an example where a Super Follow user charged $4.99 per month for users to get access to “perks.”
Through this feature service, Twitter will increase its revenue, and content creators will also be able to earn. However, there is currently no information about when this feature will be launched. Also, no disclosure has been made regarding the launch in India.

Twitter has blocked local access to accounts of Punjabi singer Jazzy B and three others in response to a legal request from the government on Sunday under the Information Technology (IT) Act, according to the Lumen database that collects and analyses complaints and requests for removal of online material.
“@jazzyb’s account has been withheld in India in response to a legal demand,” read the message on the singer’s account.
Jazzy B took to his official Instagram handle and confirmed the report. Sharing a screenshot of the ‘account withheld’ page, he wrote, “I will always stand for the rights of my people #kisanmajdooriktazindabad #neverforget1984 #raiseyourvoice (sic).” In a following Insta post, he added, “Waheguru ji I don’t fear physical death, but when my conscience dies , that is real death #neverforget1984 #kisanmajdooriktazindabad (sic).”
In a statement, a Twitter spokesperson told IANS that when it receives a valid legal request, it reviews it under both the Twitter Rules and local law.
“If the content violates Twitter’s Rules, the content will be removed from the service. In all cases, we notify the account holder directly so they’re aware that we’ve received a legal order pertaining to the account,” the spokesperson said.
In its Help Center section, Twitter clarifies, “… if we receive a valid and properly scoped request from an authorized entity, it may be necessary to withhold access to certain content in a particular country from time to time. Such withholdings will be limited to the specific jurisdiction that has issued the valid legal demand or where the content has been found to violate local law(s).” An official statement from Twitter regarding these suspensions is awaited.

Amethi Superintendent of Police Dinesh Singh said, “Shashank had asked to provide oxygen for his maternal grandfather , although he did not write in the tweet that his maternal grandfather covid- 19 are infected or not.
Singh said, “When Shashank’s mobile number was called, he did not pick up the phone. We thought that he might be in trouble, so he is not picking up the phone. After that we used surveillance and after finding out Shashank’s presence we reached his house. Where he was sleeping.
The Superintendent of Police claimed that Shashank’s house was 20 km from his maternal grandfather’s house and that he had gone there for barely five minutes after which He tweeted that. It is evident that Shashank’s motive was to spread sensation and fear by tweeting.
He said that a case has been registered against Shashank under the relevant sections of the Epidemic Act and he has been given a warning under section 41 of the Criminal Procedure Code after serving the notice.
Meanwhile, the district’s chief medical officer, Dr Ashutosh Dubey, said that Shashank’s maternal grandfather had not been tested for covid-19 and was undergoing treatment in a private hospital.
He was also not taken to the nearby Ramganj or Community Health Center in Bhadar. The Chief Medical Officer said that the claim of Shashank’s maternal grandfather’s death due to lack of oxygen is also not correct.
Amethi police said in one of its tweets, “Neither the patient was infected with covid-19 nor he need oxygen. He died of a heart attack on 26 April. The kind of tweet that Shashank tweeted is not only condemnable but also punishable.

]]>A record 3,60,960 new cases were registered in the country on Wednesday. On Tuesday, the maximum number of 66,358 new cases of infection was confirmed in Maharashtra and 895 patients died.
