										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Hours after a senior Congressman accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of attempting to sell India&#8217;s assets built over the last 70 years through the recently launched National Monetization Pipeline (NMP), Union Minister Smriti Irani launched a blistering attack on the Gandhi scion, questioning whether the government-controlled by her mother Sonia Gandhi had the &#8220;power&#8221; to &#8220;sell&#8221; the country.</p>
<p>Smriti Irani, a Union minister, said Congressman Rahul Gandhi, who had earlier targeted the government at a press conference, is &#8220;upset&#8221; that India will make Rs 6 lakh crore and is attempting to tarnish the Centre&#8217;s image for working to fill state coffers transparently while keeping them safe from the opposition party&#8217;s &#8220;robbers.&#8221;</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p dir="ltr">Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday launched the Centre&#8217;s ambitious National Monetisation Pipeline (NMP), which is a four-year pipeline for those infrastructure assets that the government plans to monetise for generating funds.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Mainly brownfield infrastructure assets have been earmarked by the Centre for NMP, official sources said.</p>
<p dir="ltr">NMP has also been designed to attract more investors to the country and encourage alternative financing for infrastructure assets.</p>
<p dir="ltr">In the Union Budget for <a href="tel:202122">2021-22</a>, the Finance Minister had made a lot of significant announcements regarding asset monetisation and stressed on the fact that the government is looking at innovative ways to raise finances.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Under NMP, the Centre is finalising ₹ 6 lakh crore worth of infrastructure assets, including national highways, mobile towers, stadia, railway stations as well as power grid pipelines among other key assets, which it plans to monetise.</p>
<p dir="ltr">&#8220;We are fully committed to delivering success to the National Motenisation Pipeline. We feel that it is very important to bring in the private sector for better operation and maintenance, therefore we are committed to very strong delivery on the ground&#8221;, said NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant.</p>
<p dir="ltr">He further added, &#8220;Infra assets worth ₹ 6 lakh crore across rail, road, power sectors to be monetised over 4 years.&#8221;</p>
