]]>According to reception hall’s manager, Shadab Azimi, 26, at least seven wedding parties have been held since the Taliban takeover of Kabul two weeks earlier, with festivities moved to daylight hours because of security concerns.
The Taliban, who during their previous rule between 1996-2001 had banned most music, except for devotional Islamic songs, did not announce a ban of live music, Azimi said. However, wedding singers canceled on their own, for fear of running afoul of possible new Taliban restrictions.
He said in recent celebrations, couples played taped music. Azimi said business was down by 80% over the past two weeks, presumably because of a sense of uncertainty.
The manager said Taliban patrols check in a couple of times a day, asking if he needs help with security, but have not seemed threatening. And unlike the security forces under the deposed government, the Taliban have not demanded bribes, he said.
“Former officials, including police officers, were asking us for money and we were forced to host their friends for lunches and dinners,” he said.
Even before the Taliban takeover, wedding parties were traditionally been segregated, with men and women celebrating in different spaces.

]]>Music is an integral part of my movies and my life. From morning till evening, I’m always listening to music… all kinds of music. Since it is there in my life, it naturally seeps into my movies as well. I cannot write a single line of a script if I’m not listening to music. So, it is very organic that music becomes important for storytelling in my movies,” Basu told PTI in an interview.
The 47-year-old filmmaker was keen to make a biopic on Kishore Kumar for the longest time. Though the project could not take off, Basu said it is his personal wish that the singer’s story is told on the big screen.
Last I heard that filmmaker Amit Kumar (the singer’s son) wanted to make the movie on Kishore Kumar. But whoever it is, I want this film to be made immediately. I have always loved Kishore Kumar and want his story to be told on the screen,” he said.
As a director of nine movies so far, Basu said he is now aware of his biggest weakness and he is constantly trying to overcome it.
There has never been any self-criticism but I often doubt myself. Whenever I complete a script, I start doubting myself. I believe that this is my biggest drawback. When you write something good, then one shouldn’t question it again and again as it can ruin your hard work. But I’m trying to overcome this,” he added.
The filmmaker is currently revelling in the success of his last movie, “Ludo”, which has been nominated for four awards at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) Awards 2021.
The annual awards ceremony of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2021 will be held virtually on August 20.

As soon as the news came not just Suga but also J-Hope took to Twitter and shared their reactions.
BTS member Suga logged into Weverse and shared his reaction as he wrote, “Eh ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah a ah a ah ah ah ahk you mean seven weeks?” he wrote. Not only this but he even shared a selfie thanking fans and wrote, ” “Thank you ARMY!”
Meanwhile, J-Hope shared a selfie on Weverse and wrote, “7…. ARMY is the best …”
The septet recently released their CD single “Butter” that includes the brand new track “Permission to dance”. The song sends the message that you don’t need permission to dance, prompting listeners to get up on their feet and dance again.

Talking about the new dance track, HRVY says, “I wrote this song a few months ago, right in the middle of the pandemic. I remember walking into the studio wanting to write a super slow acoustic ballad. I think we even started writing one, but somehow we came out with probably my most upbeat dance club track ever. Sharing a photo of herself wearing a custom ‘RED’ ring, the singer wrote a lengthy post that read, “I’ve always said that the world is a different place for the heartbroken. It moves on a different axis, at a different speed. Time skips backwards and forwards fleetingly. The heartbroken might go through thousands of micro-emotions a day trying to figure out how to get through it without picking up the phone to hear that old familiar voice. In the land of heartbreak, moments of strength, independence, and devil-may-care rebellion are intricately woven woven together with grief, paralyzing vulnerability and hopelessness. The guessing game on which catalog album would be next to get a “Taylor’s Version” has been an intense one, with many guessing “1989” just by dint of sheer popularity.
