Following the success of last year’s digital format, the 12th edition of the IFFM will take place both physically and virtually amid the coronavirus pandemic. However, in the wake of the current Australian border lockdown, the award ceremony will be hosted virtually. </span></p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As filmmaker Imtiaz Ali&#8217;s 2009 movie &#8220;Love Aaj Kal&#8221; clocks 12 years on Saturday, actor Deepika Padukone reminisced about playing Meera, a character she said resonated with many women at the time.</p>
<p>The romantic-drama, featuring Saif Ali Khan as the male lead, drew parallels between two love stories &#8211; one set in the 1960s and the other in the new millennium. The 35-year-old actor said the time she spent while working on the film still brings a smile on her face.</p>
<p>&#8220;I can’t believe it’s been 12 years since &#8216;Love Aaj Kal&#8217; (released) already! Meera, I believe, was simply beautiful; inside out. A character many related to at the time. Just reminiscing about all those months we spent filming in Delhi and London, brings a smile to my face,” Padukone said in a statement.</p>
<p>Produced by Khan and Dinesh Vijan, the film was well-received by both the critics and the audiences.</p>
<p>In 2020, Ali directed a contemporary take on the film with a similar theme of two love stories &#8211; one set in Udaipur in the early 90s and the other in modern-day Delhi. The movie, featuring actors Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan, received a lukewarm response.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, on the professional front, Deepika will be seen sharing the screen space yet again with Ranveer Singh in Kabir Khan’s ‘’83’, where he essays the role of cricketer Kapil Dev and she would be playing his on-screen wife Romi Dev.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"> The Indian Air Force has written to the Central Board of Film Certification complaining against its &#8220;undue negative portrayal&#8221; in the movie Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl&#8217;, which is scheduled for a release on Netflix today.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Air Force in its letter to the censor board, and sent to Netflix and Dharma Productions, has stated that as per initial understanding, &#8220;Dharma Productions had agreed to represent Indian Air Force with authenticity and make all efforts to ensure that the film helps to inspire the next generation of IAF officers.&nbsp;&#8220;However, when the trailer of the movie was released recently, it was observed that &#8220;certain scenes and dialogues in the movie and its trailer, which was forwarded to this office for viewing, have been found to portray the IAF in an undue negative light.&#8221;</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The letter written by the IAF and accessed by ANI, read &#8220;In the aim to glorify the screen character of &#8216;Ex-Fit Lt Gunjan Saxena&#8217;, M/s Dharma Productions presented some situations that are misleading and portray an inappropriate work culture especially against women in the IAF.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">&#8220;The story of the Dharma Productions movie is based on the first Indian Air Force woman pilot who was part of the 1999 Kargil conflict.<br>Saxena, who is one of the first female pilots to fly in combat, played an important role in rescuing injured soldiers during the Kargil War in 1999 and was awarded the gallantry Shaurya Vir Award for displaying courage during the war.In the communication, the Air Force said that as a service, it has ensured &#8220;that the organisation is gender neutral and has always provided an equal opportunity to both male and women personnel.&#8221;</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">IAF has also annexed the summary of the scenes and dialogues of the script, which are considered objectionable due to the presentation of incorrect gender bias with the letter.
