										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Union government must find an early solution to the border dispute between Assam and Mizoram, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said on Sunday.</p>
<p>&#8220;The tension between Assam and Mizoram is a matter of grave concern. For the first time in the history of the country, a state has issued a travel advisory to its residents not to travel to another state,&#8221; Mr Gehlot tweeted.</p>
<p>He said the registration of FIR against Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and senior officials of the state government by Mizoram Police and heavy deployment of security forces at the border areas of the two states raises many serious questions.</p>
<p>Mr Gehlot said the BJP-led NDA government should take the people of the country into confidence on why such a situation has suddenly arisen days after Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the region and chaired a meeting with the chief ministers of the eight northeastern states.</p>
<p>The chief minister said the central government should find a solution soon with the cooperation of all political parties, NGOs.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The Assam government declared a three-day state mourning from Tuesday to condole the death of five policemen and one civilian in a border clash with Mizoram on the previous day, a notification said.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">During this period, the national flag will fly at half-mast and there will be no public entertainment, the order issued by the General Administration Department said.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">At least six persons were killed and 60 others, including an SP, injured in a bloody clash along the Assam-Mizoram border on Monday.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Union Home Minister Amit Shah has spoken to the chief ministers of Assam and Mizoram, Himanta Biswa Sarma and Zoramthanga respectively, and urged them to ensure peace along the disputed border and find an amicable settlement.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Sarma paid floral tributes to the five slain policemen at Silchar on Tuesday.</span></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Mizoram became coronavirus-free with the discharge of the lone COVID-19 patient from a hospital on Saturday, officials said. It now shares a similar status with four other northeastern states Manipur, Sikkim, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh. Mizoram health minister Dr R Lalthangliana said the state&#8217;s lone COVID-19 patient, a pastor, was discharged from Zoram Medical College (ZMC) on Saturday afternoon after 45 days of intense treatment. He was discharged from the hospital after four consecutive tests turned negative, the minister said.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The pastor, who is in his early 50s and working under the Baptist Church of Mizoram, returned to the state from Amsterdam on March 16. He was pursuing higher study in theology in the Netherlands capital. He tested positive for novel coronavirus on March 24 and was admitted at ZMC along with his wife and two children. The pastor&#8217;s wife and children were discharged from the medical college on March 28 after they tested negative for COVID-19.  </p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The state health minister thanked doctors, nurses and staffs of ZMC for successfully treating the patient. He said Union health minister Harsh Vardhan has congratulated Mizoram for becoming free of COVID-19. The Union heath minister has also congratulated the state for the 10 point drop in infant mortality rate, Lalthangliana said. </p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">According to officials of the health department, following his discharge from the hospital, the pastor has been advised to be in home quarantine for 14 days and then undergo medical check-up again. The patient was accorded a warm welcome by the people of his locality in Aizawl as he was discharged from the medical college. &#8212; PTI </p>
