The curfew will  be effective from May 18 to May 28. It will be effective in the districts of Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Kakching, Churachandpur and Ukhrul.</p>
<p>Manipur recorded its highest single-day increase of 726 new covid cases, summing up the total number to 38,322. Imphal West records a maximum number of cases at 290, and followed by Imphal East at 200.</p>
<p>Many have recovered from the virus with a total number of recovery to 31,872.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Goa became the first state in India to be declared zero COVID-19, following Goa Manipur CM N Biren Singh has informed on Twitter that both the patients in the state, who were earlier declared coronavirus infected, have fully recovered and tested negative for the infection.<br> The first case in the state was that of a 23-year-old woman who had returned from the UK and the 65-year-old the second patient who contracted the disease following his return from the Tablighi Jamaat event in Delhi&#8217;s Nizamuddin have tested negative. <br>&#8220;I am glad to share that Manipur is now Corona free. Both patients have fully recovered and have tested negative. There are no fresh cases of the virus in the state,&#8221; Manipur CM N Biren Singh tweeted.<br>Manipur becomes the second state after Goa to become coronavirus-free in India. The coastal state of Goa had a total of seven positive cases, of whom six had travel history and one was the brother of a positive patient. </p>
