										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Former BJP senior leader Mukul Roy and his son Subhranshu Roy returned to the Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Friday in presence of West Bengal chief minister and party supremo Mamata Banerjee. Ahead of his return, Roy and his son held a meeting with Mamata and other senior TMC leaders at the party headquarters in Kolkata.</p>
<p>Roy joined the TMC in presence of West Bengal Chief Minister and party supremo Mamata Banerjee. He was felicitated by Abhishek Banerjee.</p>
<p>Momentsafter joining TMC, Roy said, &#8220;I have joined TMC today. In the present circumstances, no one will stay in Bharatiya Janata Party.&#8221;</p>
<p>Mamta Banerjee after his return said that BJP scared Mukul Roy into joining the party. She said, &#8220;Mukul has returned home. He was scared into joining BJP. I also felt that his health condition was deteriorating and now he is at peace mentally.&#8221;</p>
<p>BJP is not a party for common people. He could not remain in BJP anymore. We were always a strong party. He returned because he wished to. More people will return,&#8221; she further added.</p>
<p>Mukul Roy was among the leaders who were instrumental in the rise of the TMC. He had left the party in 2017 after he was named as an accused in the Narada sting operation case and his fallout with Mamata Banerjee. He was also suspended from the party for six years. Soon after he joined the BJP was made its national vice-president. His son also followed in his footsteps and joined the party in 2020</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>West Bengal has extended restrictions on services and movement till June 15. The current restrictions were announced on May 15 and were to end on June 1.</p>
<p>No events and functions will be allowed during this period. Any from of congregation between 9 pm to 5 am is forbidden.</p>
<p>All offices and educational institutions remain shut, as well as public transport, including the Metro.</p>
<p>Online services and home deliveries are allowed to continue.</p>
<p>Grocery stores and shops selling essentials will stay open between 7 and 10 am. Shops selling sweets, will remain open from 10 am to 5 pm.</p>
<p>Banks will remain open from 10 am to 2 pm.</p>
<p>Weddings are allowed to have a maximum of 50 guests.</p>
<p>Mamta Banerjee, West Bengal CM, said, &#8220;<em>Please don&#8217;t call this a lockdown. COVID numbers have come down and for the sake of the economy there will be no total lockdown. </em><em>The pandemic situation in the state has eased a little because of existing restrictions.&#8221;</em></p>

<p>as per Article 164 which states that a minister who for any period of six consecutive months is not a member of the Legislature of the State shall at the expiration of that period cease to be a Minister.  Mamata Banerjee is likely to contest the bypoll from Bhowanipur assembly constituency.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Speaking to reporters, he said that he was confident that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who is contesting the elections against him from the Nandigram seat, will lose the polls.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">&#8220;I have a very old relationship with the people of the area. I have a personal relationship with almost every person in Nandigram. Pretty confident that I will win the election,&#8221; Adhikari said.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">&#8220;Entire villages have come out to vote in favour of the BJP,&#8221; he added.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Adhikari said that he went to the polling booth on a bike as the road was too narrow for a car.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">&#8220;I will urge the people to come out early and cast their votes. There were reports of problems at some booths but those have now been solved. The polling is happening peacefully,&#8221; he said.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">He said that he will try to visit all the booths in the constituency.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Further, the BJP leader claimed that the TMC has failed to depute agents in all the booths.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">&#8220;It shows that Mamata Banerjee will not be able to win the elections,&#8221; he said.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Speaking to reporters before hitting the campaign trail for the later phases, Banerjee alleged that locals are being hounded out of various villages in the assembly constituency in the Purba Medinipur district.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">“Goons from other states have entered Nandigram to intimidate the voters. The villagers of Balarampur and many other areas are being hounded out. They are intimidating voters,” she alleged.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In his resignation, Rajiv Banerjee wrote, &#8216;It was a privilege to serve the people of West Bengal.  He thanks everyone for this opportunity &#8216;.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Rajiv Banerjee did not attend many previous cabinet meetings, after which speculations were being made that he might leave his post.  However, he has not resigned from the membership of the party yet.<br>
Let us tell you that assembly elections are to be held in West Bengal this year and before that the leaders of Trinamool Congress are constantly leaving the post.  Shubhendu Adhikari has already resigned and taken command of the Bharatiya Janata Party.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A few days ago, Lakshmi Ratna Shukla also left her ministerial post.  Many Trinamool Congress MLAs, local leaders have also left the party post and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Kailash Vijayvargiya has once again attacked Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday.  He said that the way the politics of violence is taking place in Bengal, Bengal is becoming infamous.  The history of Bengal has never been like the black history Mamata Banerjee is writing.  The politicization of bureaucracy and criminalization of bureaucracy, we have seen in a state, it is West Bengal.<br>      He said that Mamata Banerjee&#8217;s government and &#8216;politics of violence&#8217; are synonymous.  The image of Bengal is being tarnished.  No day goes when BJP workers are not attacked by TMC goons.  The police is also standing with the goons.  This is the most unfortunate aspect about this state.<br>      At the same time, in West Bengal, BJP President Dilip Ghosh said that there is fierce fighting in TMC.  Fighting and dying amongst themselves.  There was a shoot-up yesterday also.  Violence has started within the party throughout Bengal.  This is affecting society</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A day earlier i.e. on Monday, MLA Suvendu Adhikari, who accepted the challenge of CM Mamata Banerjee to contest from Nandigram, again hit back at the TeamAC Supremo on Tuesday.  Nandigram MLA officer joining BJP from TMC said- &#8216;Mamta Banerjee should prepare and keep letter pad written by former Chief Minister.</p>

Mamata&#8217;s declaration about the ongoing political war between the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Trinamool Congress has many implications being extracted. On Monday, West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee held an election meeting in Nandigram, where she was targeted by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Mamta appealed to the state unit president on the stage itself and a decision was taken immediately.  .  Mamta Banerjee said that this time also TMC government will be formed in Bengal and TMC will get more than 200 seats.Mamta Banerjee also took a dig at the Subhendu officer who went to BJP from TMC here and said that he did not need to take knowledge from anyone on who did the Nandigram movement.  Today farmers are also agitating and BJP should immediately withdraw all three agricultural laws.</p>
