<p>An ATS level Special Investigation Team is already probing cases related to foreign funding. It is estimated that nearly four thousand madrassas in Uttar Pradesh may have received funds from foreign sources. Preliminary findings have revealed that several madrassas lack clear income sources despite operating from large and well constructed buildings. In many cases operators have failed to provide verified documentation explaining the origin of funds used for construction.</p>
<p>The Minority Welfare Director has instructed district officials to extend full cooperation to the ATS during the investigation. Officials have been told to provide all necessary assistance whenever requested to ensure a thorough and transparent probe.</p>
