]]> Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol revealed a bronze sculpture of their memorable characters, Raj and Simran, from Aditya Chopra’s legendary film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge during a ceremony in London on December 4. Despite the cold and rain, the two actors brightened the event by recreating the pose captured in the statue.

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge is now the first Indian movie to be commemorated with a statue in Leicester Square. It joins celebrated characters from global favourites including Harry Potter, Mary Poppins, Paddington, Singin in the Rain, Batman and Wonder Woman.

Shah Rukh Khan expressed that DDLJ was created with sincerity and a desire to tell a story about love and its power to overcome boundaries. He noted that the film has resonated for thirty years because its message continues to touch hearts.

He added that DDLJ has become a part of who he is and that the recognition from the United Kingdom and the Heart of London Business Alliance is deeply meaningful to him. The honour brought back many memories for him, and he dedicated the moment to the entire cast and crew, director Aditya Chopra and the Yash Raj Films team.

Kajol reflected on the significance of the moment, sharing that witnessing the statue’s unveiling felt like revisiting a cherished chapter of their journey.

She said the continued affection for the film after three decades is extraordinary. Seeing the statue take its place in Leicester Square, a site with strong ties to the movie, made the occasion even more special.

Shah Rukh Khan posted images from the ceremony with a message expressing his excitement at celebrating thirty years of the film. He encouraged fans visiting London to stop by the statue and create new memories connected to DDLJ. Kajol’s children, Nysa and Yug, attended the event and shared the moment with their mother.

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge follows the love story of Raj and Simran, two young non resident Indians who fall in love while travelling through Europe and India. Their connection begins on a train departing from King’s Cross station. Leicester Square is a fitting location for the statue, as the characters first cross paths in the area without realising it, before embarking on their European trip. The square’s iconic cinemas appear in the scene, with Raj shown near the Vue cinema and Simran passing the Odeon Leicester Square.

Directed by Aditya Chopra, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge was released in 1995 and celebrates its thirtieth anniversary this year.

Alam was that after marriage, Kajol’s father did not talk to her for four days. He remained angry with them. Now Kajol himself has explained this in detail.
In an interview to a news portal, Kajol has said that she has been married to Ajay Devgan due to her mother. She says- My father was against getting married at the age of 24. They wanted me to do some work first. But my mother supported me a lot. He said that I should do my mind. I am lucky that everyone supported me from time to time.
Kajol further says – The parents had agreed to the marriage. But my father did not talk for four whole days. He continued to believe that I should have focused on my career. But I had decided. There was no proposal, I just knew how to spend life with Ajay.
Today, after so many years, this decision of Kajol has also been proved correct and her marriage also seems to be growing strongly. Kajol and Ajay are the parents of two children. He has an elder daughter and a son.
