<p style="text-align: left">Jitin Prasada, who defected from the Congress to the BJP earlier this year, was one of seven new ministers appointed by Yogi Adityanath&#8217;s ministry in Uttar Pradesh just four months before the state election.</p>

<p>Jitin Prasada, the only one of the seven to be appointed to the cabinet, denied that serving in the Uttar Pradesh ministry was a setback for him. The 47-year-old was a member of the Congress-led administration as a Union Minister. Earlier morning, the Chief Minister met with all of the new ministers. They have yet to be assigned ministries and only have three months until the code of conduct takes effect, so there will be no further announcements.</p>

The BJP introduction of Prasada was seen to be an important gain for the party before the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.</p>
<p>For a long time Prasada, a significant Brahmin in the administration of UP, was contrary to the leadership of Congress. The &#8220;Brahmin Chetna Parishad&#8221; was introduced in July of last year by Prasada to make a voice for the community of Brahmin. He served in the government of UPA-II.</p>
