Farmers have also been guaranteed that two family members of farmer Sushil Kajal (who died after a police lathi charge at the Bastara toll plaza on August 28) will be provided jobs.

]]>Mumbai police’s main control room received the call on Friday night, in which the caller said that bombs have been placed at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), Byculla, Dadar railway stations and at actor Amitabh Bachchan’s bungalow in Juhu, the police official said.
After getting the call, the Government Railway Police, Railway Protection Force along with the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad, dog squads and local police personnel rushed to these locations and carried out a search operation,” he said.
Nothing suspicious has been found so far at these place, but heavy police deployment has been put in place at there,” he said, adding that further investigation is on.

]]>Earlier today, in a written response to Parliament, the Government has said several Adani Group companies are being investigated by the SEBI and DRI.
“We have always been transparent with all our regulators and have full faith in them. While we have always been fully compliant with applicable SEBI regulations, we have made full disclosure to SEBI on specific information requests from them in the past,” the spokesperson said.
However, they added that Adani Group has not received any communication or information requests recently.
With regard to the DRI matter, the Spokesperson said the investigation agency issued a show-cause notice to Adani Power, about five years back.
Subsequently, DRI passed an order in favour of Adani Power confirming that there is no over-valuation of equipment. The department has approached the Tribunal and the matter stands sub judice now,” they said adding, “Adani Group is a responsible corporate citizen and strongly believes in compliance of applicable laws and adheres to prudent corporate governance framework.”

]]>“A meeting of CBI officers, who arrived from Delhi yesterday, is underway at airforce transit facility in Santacruz, Mumbai”, sources said.
On August 19, while holding that the FIR registered in Patna over the death of Bollywood actor was legitimate, the Supreme Court directed the CBI to investigate the case.
The single-judge bench of Justice Hrishikesh Roy also said the Bihar Government was competent to recommend transferring the case to the CBI.
The apex court also asked the Mumbai Police to hand over all the evidence collected so far in the case to the CBI. The State of Maharashtra refused the option to challenge the order, Justice Roy said.
The CBI has registered an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty and others in connection with the actor’s death after the Centre accepted Bihar Government’s recommendation to transfer the probe in the matter from Patna.
An FIR was registered in Patna on a complaint filed by KK Singh, Rajput’s father, under sections related to abetment to suicide. Rajput was found dead at his Mumbai residence on June 14.
