<p>&#8220;There seems to be a rush to get kids into school. Parents prefer to begin as soon as their children reach the age of two years. This may not be good for their mental health,&#8221; a bench of justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and MM Sundresh said.</p>

The Karnataka government is also contemplating including the Gita in state schools in the division of &#8216;moral teaching.&#8217; Other Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled states, as well as the Central Board of Secondary Education, are likely to follow suit soon.</p>
<p>Jitu Vaghani, Gujarat&#8217;s education minister, said the choice to teach the Gita is in keeping with the Union government&#8217;s New Education Policy, which encourages children to learn about historic and ancient cultures that will make them proud of India&#8217;s great history.</p>
