]]> Late actor Dilip Kumar’s wife and senior actor Saira Banu was admitted to the Hinduja Hospital after she complained of chest congestion earlier this week. She was kept in ICU for the past few days, and though stable, she was under observation for several health-related issues like low blood pressure. Banu also required an angiography for an issue with her left ventricular.

Today, an official from the hospital informed that the 77-year-old actor was treated for the left ventricular failure with ischaemia.

The official said, “Saira Banu was treated for left ventricular failure with ischaemia and is out of crisis. She will probably be shifted out of the ICU tomorrow as conveyed by the treating consultant Dr. Nitin Gokhale.”

On Thursday, Saira Banu’s spokesperson and family friend Faisal Faaroqui had said that she might need a procedure for her left ventricular but the doctors would take a call.

He had said, “Saira Ji’s doctor Nitin Gokhale suspects that there could be an issue with her left ventricular, for which she will need to go through an angiography, but that’s not urgent. But we are going with what the doctor says. All said and done, Saira ji is stable and should be out of the hospital soon.”

]]> On Saturday, Texas capital city Austin alerted the residents to know that the local state of the pandemic is “dire” as ICU beds are down to a single digit. 

The Austin area– with a population of almost 2.4 million people–has just six intensive -care unit beds left, state health data show, 

A total of 313 ventilators are available. 

The situation is critical,” Public Health Medical Director Desmar Walkes said in a statement Saturday, warning of a “catastrophe” as it sent the notification to residents at noon through text messages, emails and phone calls. “Our hospitals are severely stressed and there is little we can do to alleviate their burden with the surging cases.”Cases are rising even as the U.S. pace of vaccination started to tick up after months of decline. Daily average deaths more than doubled in the past month, even while remaining far below the levels of last winter, with health-care experts warning that the pace of new infections could trigger deadlier mutations.

]]> The Supreme Court advised today that the various High Courts that are dealing with Covid- related issues, must not pass any orders that are impossible to implement. An Allahabad High Court order stated that all the nursing home beds in Uttar Pradesh must have oxygen facility within four months. The High Court consequently administered the Uttar Pradesh government to ensure that every UP village should have two ambulances within a month with ICU facility.

A Supreme Court bench of Justices Vineet Saran and BR Gavai said today,”High Courts must pass orders that are possible to implement”. A two-judge bench of Allahabad High Court of Justices Siddharth Varma and Ajit Kumar had used a popular Hindi phrase “Ram Bharose” referring to the Uttar Pradesh’s medical system. The Supreme Court refused to cancel the comment, and said to take these observations as advise.
