An international summit aimed at finalizing an agreement to end the war in Gaza will be held on Monday in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, the office of the Egyptian President announced on Saturday.

The meeting will be co-chaired by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and US President Donald Trump, with leaders from over 20 countries set to participate, according to the statement. The summit’s objective is to bring the war in the Gaza Strip to an end, bolster efforts to achieve peace and stability in the Middle East, and initiate a new phase of regional security and stability.

The ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas took effect on Friday following three days of intensive negotiations between the two sides in Sharm El-Sheikh, mediated by Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, and the United States. The first phase of the plan includes the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza City, Rafah, Khan Yunis, and the northern region, the opening of five crossings for aid, and the release of hostages and prisoners.

A Hamas source stated on Friday that the Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt is expected to reopen by the middle of next week for limited movement of people, although the details of the operation have not been announced. According to health officials in Gaza, Israeli military operations spanning over two years have devastated Gaza, killing more than 67,000 people and creating famine conditions.

Iran Ready for Fair Dialogue with US: Araghchi

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Syed Abbas Araghchi, said on Saturday that his government is prepared for a fair and balanced dialogue with the United States. In an interview given to state-backed IRIB TV, Araghchi outlined Iran’s position on resuming nuclear talks with the US and lifting sanctions. He stated that if the United States presents a competent plan that ensures the protection of Iran’s interests, it will certainly be considered.

Life resuming back in Gaza with the opening of cafes and shops. The fishermen are now moving towards the sea for fishing. The lives of the people are now coming back to normal after a deadly 11-day conflict between Hamas and Israel.

The Gaza strip is now focussing on rebuilding the territory a day after the hold of the airstrike. Rescue workers are searching for the bodies or the survivors after the “war”. Dozens of city fishermen are preparing nets before moving toward the sea, on Gaza ports.

One of the fishermen, Rami  Abu Amira said,”We need to eat. We, fishermen, are scared the Israeli navy will shoot at us. It’s up to everyone to decide whether to go or not”.

The attack on Gaza killed 248 people including 66 children, and 1,900 wounded since May 10. The United Nation says that half of the people killed, are civilians.

Israeli President, Reuven Rivlin has praised the “generosity and kind-heartedness” of the Indian caregiver. The Indian woman was killed during the Hamas rocket attack.

Soumya Santosh was from Kerala’s Idukki district and was a caregiver professional. She was attending an old woman at a house in the Southern Israeli coastal city of Ashkelon. She died in a rocket attack from Gaza while she was talking to her husband on May 11.

Mr. Rivlin called her family on Wednesday and expressed his condolences. He said that he hopes they would find comfort in her “generosity and kind-heartedness”.

A statement from the Presidency said,”President of Israel Reuven Rivlin spoke earlier this week with the family of Soumya Santosh, an Indian citizen working as a caregiver in Israel, who was killed in rocket fire on Ashkelon on Tuesday (May 11)”. The Israeli President tweeted and expressed deep condolences to the families of foreign workers for their “tragic deaths”.

The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Wednesday that the bombings on Gaza were done to discourage. It was not done to annihilate the Islamist rulers.

He said,”There are only two ways that you can deal with them”, addressing the Hamas in a Tel Aviv briefing for a group of foreign ambassadors. “You can either conquer them, and that’s always an open possibility, or you can deter them, and we are engaged right now in forceful deterrence, but I have to say we don’t rule out anything”.

Netanyahu connected the dramatic rush in violence to a decision by Palestinian Authority president Mahmud Abbas to cancel the elections that was scheduled for this weekend. Palestinian experts say that Hamas is now seeking to establish the real defenders of Palestinians against Israel.

Netanyahu said,” When Hamas saw that these elections were not going to take place, they sought to.. incite riots, to incite violence, in order to further their political goals”.

A Palestinian militant commander dies in a rocket fire by Israel on Monday. This further led to several air attacks from the Islami groups on the cities of Israel. The violence has now entered its second week and the fatalities are serious. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has requested all the sides to protect civilians. He also added that Washington has been working continuously to stop the conflict.

According to the Gaza health officials, the death toll reached 201 last week, which also included 58 children and 34 women. The Israeli authorities said that 10 people were killed in Israel including two children.

The death of the Hussam Abu Harmeed, the armed commander of north Gaza’s Islamic Jihad will most certainly draw an aggressive response from the militant group.

The Israeli military said,”Harbeen had been behind several anti-tank missile terror attacks against Israeli civilians”. However the militant groups in Gaza have not given any sign of stopping the fights. Later after the incident, Islamic Jihad said that it had fired rockets on the coastal cities of Israel. Israel has also bombed the underground tunnels used by Hamas to take revenge for the attack on their coastal cities.

Al Jazeera said on Saturday that it would not be silenced after an Israeli air strike demolished the building housing the Qatar-based broadcaster as well as the US news agency, The Associated Press in Gaza.

Al Jazeera’s Jerusalem bureau chief, Walid al-Omari said on Saturday,” It is clear that those who are waging this war do not only want to spread destruction and death in Gaza, but also to silence media that are witnessing, documenting and reporting the truth of what is happening in Gaza”. “But this is impossible”, he said on air soon after the 13-storey Jala Tower in Gaza collapsed. “This is a crime among a series of crimes perpetrated by the Israeli army in the Gaza strip”.

Al Jazeera broadcasted the image of the building collapsing to the ground after the Israeli air strike. Jawad Mehdi, the owner of the Jala tower informed that an Israeli intelligence officer warned him that he had just one hour to ensure the evacuation of the building.
