										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The US Food and Drug Administration issued a warning on Monday that the Johnson &amp; Johnson COVID-19 vaccinations may raise the risk of Guillain-Barre syndrome, an uncommon neurological condition after 100 early cases were found among the 12.5 million doses distributed.</p>
<p>Guillain-Barré syndrome can induce stiffness in the extremities and even full-body paralysis in extreme cases, although most patients recover. According to the CDC, the majority of the 100 or so cases documented in connection to the Johnson &amp; Johnson vaccination were males aged 50 and older who acquired the syndrome two weeks after being shot.</p>
<p>The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices of the organization is scheduled to convene and examine the issue at a future date.</p>
