										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Heavy rains drenched Mumbai and its surroundings late last night and early this morning, causing flooded roads and the halting of local trains. According to the BMC, the city&#8217;s municipal government, at least 20 people have perished in rain-related accidents in Mumbai&#8217;s Chembur and Vikhroli districts.</p>
<p>Officials reported 156.94 mm of rain in Mumbai between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m., with the east end receiving 143.14 mm and the western suburbs receiving 125.37 mm, correspondingly.</p>
<p>Waterlogging was recorded in a number of locations, notably Chunabhatti, Sion, Dadar, Gandhi Market, Chembur, and Kurla LBS Road. Residents were observed in some of these low-lying regions removing rainwater that had infiltrated their homes as a result of the rainfall.</p>
