Earlier, Jammu and Kashmir DGP Dilbag Singh had issued directions to officers to remain vigilant as terror outfits are continuously trying to use drones for terrorist activities.&#8221;Terror outfits are continuously attempting to use drones for terrorist activities,&#8221; DGP Dilbag Singh had told PTI.Since the drone attack at the Jammu air force airbase on June 27, several drones have been spotted on multiple locations in Jammu in the last one month raising the threat of another drone attack. </span></p>

The government has come out with a radically liberalised set of draft rules that pave the way for drone taxis and cargo delivered. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The aviation ministry has sought public comments on a much simplified “Drone rules, 2021” till August 5. After taking the comments into consideration, the final rules are expected to be issued the stricter UAS rules. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Coming after the Jammu airport attack, these changes indicate that while the government takes steps to counter rogue drones, it was willing to allow the technology to achieve its potential. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Under new rules, manufacturers may generate their drone’s unique identification number on the digital sky platform through the self-certification route. </span></p>
